Now the majority of you will go "yes, of course I do", but I would guess that there are a select few who don't and may not even know what it is.

Now I thought it was a phenomenon everyone experienced until we were having a family conversation at the dinner table and reliving some of our strangest deja vu's, when we came to ask my dad, he didn't have a clue what we were going on about. So not only has he never had one, he just didn't even get the concept. It also turns out he never dreams (well, he never remembers having any dreams).

I feel like he's missing out somewhat!

Personally I only get it occasionally and when I do it's only for a fleeting second and then it's gone. So, how many of you experience déjà vu, is it regular or occasional and how many have never had it? And just for those who don't here's a description:

Déjà vu is the experience of feeling sure that one has already witnessed or experienced a current situation, even though the exact circumstances of the previous encounter are uncertain and were perhaps imagined.

:)

Suerly your dad must have been aware of the phrase though?

I must get it at least half a dozen times a year. I also remember my dreams and have lucid dreams on occasion if that helps your research...

I have experienced it quite a few times.

Over the past 2 years i have quite a few daja vu moments, it's a weird feeling when you realise.

I dream things and then see them in real life. The best example of this was dreaming of a hotel room, With a very specific view out the window. Afew months later I stayied in the hotel room that was in the dream.

Also Dreamt of a town by the sea with a wide prominade curving around with a cliff at the end. Abit of time later a broucher turned up at my work with the image I saw in my dream. It was in Wales, So I guess I could have seen it on TV or something, but I'd not attually visited it.

I would assume so, but if he's never experienced it then the concept would be strange to him, we did have to explain it to him. So I can only guess if he has heard it used before he's just associated it to his own understanding of the term.

I get this fairly often really, which tbh is rather disturbing. Not quite things like you have discribed.

For instance I will be in a meeting with a couple of my managers and I could have sworn like 2 nights ago I had a dream about having the exact same convo, even to the point when some of the times they say the exact same thing they said in my dream. Which to be honest freaks the hell out of me sometimes.
I also get it with some nights out with friends when I look around I am sure I have dreamed this before.

However I do get a lot of dreams which never happen in real life. Which is a shame :p

Dreams are freaky, I started noteing them down so I could Lucid dream more. It really is mental the stuff your mind can make up.

I used to get it quite regularly, say once a month. Lately though (the last 4 odd years) I have not had it very often at all, I can recall only once in that time. I have lucid dreams regularly though.

I've had some very clear moments, especially as a child! I specifically remember one instance when I told my mother straight aware that I'd seen the situation before! Recently they're just feelings and not quite as clear but I still get it a few times a year.

Can you go lucid? I tried ages ago then stopped, then accidentally nearly did it but then there has been nothing since, not that I've tried, mind.

I can remember this morning's (don't think it was last night as I woke up then went back to sleep) dream quite clearly.

I've had it on only a few occasions that I can remember. It's never been anything specific, I just get the feeling that I've seen a place before, when I know that I haven't.

The weirdest one I remember was being on a snowboarding holiday, and sitting by the edge of the piste at the top of the mountain, and clearly recognising the view from the top, even though it was my first time.

Yea big style, sometimes i realise that i've 'seen' it before and know what is going to be on the next web page and whatever.
A lot of us on my dads side of the family get it quite a lot.

Gotta love deja vu!
