Temporary new car

cheapest service this one has had was about £850.00, those are Maranello prices though.

cost £850.00 to fix a leak air con pipe as well!

You can get it cheaper at independants BUT... there are not many of them around. If I had one, I think I'd have to take it to Greypaul in Notts, which wouldn't be cheap :(

a friend had one of these a while back with the red leather - was a lovely car but pretty much ruined him ;)

Ignoring fuel and insurance he ended up spending ~1k a month on it with one thing and another. He was looking to sell for about the same amount and it took him about 2 months to shift it, lots of tyre kickers etc. In the end a garage bought it off him after knocking him down a bit.

Just checked the invoice.

It needed the front seats and carpet taking out to dry and part of the dash removed to get the to the offending air con pipe.

The pipe was £1.98!!!!!

The labour was £600 and the wet pollen filters cost £48.60 to replace.

It also had the lights adjusted for £65.00 and then plus the VAT on the lot!

You are basically running and servicing a Ferrari, if you keep that in mind you wont go far wrong.

I know of one guy who owns a Cerb and uses it all through the summer months. He's no mechanic and takes it to my mate to enquire about a "service" but always baulks at the cost and only ever let's him change the oil. Never spent the money on the other service requirements like having the cams adjusted, coolant changed, brake fluid changed, etc. etc. etc. Basically, it hasn't been serviced in the last three or four years. When he goes to sell it on, someone's going to get a right nail and it shows the importance of checking the service history.

I know of a similar chap with an e46 M3, he paid about £11k for 2 years ago, he is proud that its "serviced" by Kwik Fit!

In the two years he's owned it, its had 3 Kwik Fit oil changes, thats it.

It sounds like a diesel!:(

These cars just wouldnt last with servicing like that, you would end up with an expensive ornament on the drive.

Yep i think this is the key thing to remember, many a good car must get wrecked because the owner has no idea!

Look at that "cheap" one i bought, i spent 3k or whatever it was the day it got delivered. I cant remember now but it was a few quid.

Bloody good specialist i found though, my work would have been 5k in Maranello.

 On what? I must have missed the thread, that or my memory is ****ed

I cant even remember now, but it was 2 new tyres and a big service plus something else, have a search there is a thread at the time with a break down of what it cost.

Not for the faint hearted these cars, plus the petrol, my son is putting 25 quid a day in it now.

And 3k to insure at 21 :D

Exactly, it's enough to make any normal person cry and hence my love for the bigger power yank tanks.
