antec 300 fans problem / or buy new case

Hi,

What fans would anyone suggest for the antec 300 case, as I was thinking Apache Black Super Silent 120mm for front/side, back?

Also need help with a 140mm extractor fan.

Bought the Antec 300 case last year but not got round to building a pc for my brother until now.

Do you think I should sell this case & go for something bigger like a Corsair 800D, as it would seam the antec 300 needs the HDD cage removed to allow for bigger GPU cards. I presume a bigger case or differently designed case would be better for air flow but don't know what case i would change to.

Help would be grate, thanks.

There is a huge price jump between the 300 and 800D isnt there?

Just not wanting to start my brother’s build, & then discover that a gpu I choose then won’t fit in the case.

you already have the case measure it then find the length of the gpu.

Have not finalised this yet but either an: ati 6950 or 6970 / GTX 570 or 580.

From another thread, it looks like the 6970 does not fit unless Hdd cage is cut or removed. Don't know if a 570/580 would fit without altering the case.

If you want to remove the HDD rack completely, all you have to do is drill the rivets out.

I used sharkoon silent eagle fans on mine with a fan controller. Good fans, I run mine at about 1000rpm but it depends how loud/airflow you want. :cool:

I would like the case fans to be as quiet as possible, that's why iam thinking the apache black's, & for i5/i7 SB cpu cooling the Akasa AK-CCX-4002HP Venom CPU Cooler.

for the price the 300 its a rather good case.

From what I understand the 800D isn't very good for air cooling as it's meant as a watercoolers case. The bigger the case the more fans you need to get the air moving.

The Venom cooler isn't partcularly quiet at full speed (1900 rpm will never be quiet)

I would like a good balance between noise & performance.

Would apache black fans be ok for the 120mm front/back/side, or would you suggest something else.

I sawn some one using ‘Yate Loon 120mm Blue LED fans’ in the front of the antec 300 case in a you tube video & I really liked the look of them.

Is there a better air cooler that you would recommend than the venom cooler I mentioned.

I think I will need to factor in which cooler, with the type of ram I go for as I am looking at:
