Hi Guys,

I thought Id share my new working build which I assembled last night:

I bought a Intel 2600K, Asus P8P67 Delux, 8gb Corsair Vengence C9, Akasa Viper Fan and the 1156 mounting kit for my Thermalright Extreame.

The build was really easy and took me an hour to do. Windows installed off a pendrive took 15 minutes to install. Its lightening fast compared to my Qx6700.

(The white Shakoon fan was originally on the cpu cooler but as its been working for 3 years it was time for a change)

Its all at stock at the moment due to a few minor issues im going to work on tonight. I am going to start OCing next week to give it all time to bed down. During fitting the ram I noticed that it only clips in 1 side. This makes me wonder if some peoples motherboards arnt posting due to not installing one side properly?

The EFI bios is really nice. Abit different and its abit of a learning curve. Its nice to finally see a BIOS come out which is nice, clean and feels natural.

Unlike some stories ive been hearing my board posted first time. The one thing I am suffering from is the cold boot issue which I think I may of solved by changing some settings. Hoping to see a BIOS update soon.

At the moment its idling nicely and my temps are what I think are good with the whole CPU averaging about 25c (idle) at stock. This was taken with core temp 0.99.8.

Hope you enjoy the read and if you have any questions please let me know.

Matt

Lovely build. Hope you enjoy it.

What case is that?

What's the clearance like between the Akasa HSF and memory heat sinks on the Corsair Vengence?

Would be great to see some benchmarks and OC results too.

The case is a Cooler Master Stacker. Quite old now, its about 3 years old.

Its a very tight gap between slot 1 and the cooler.

Benchmarks and OC results will come later when I have it all sorted.

also switch on the tpu and epu switches on the motherboard that should help with you cood boot issue it helped mine:)

I did the update 1053 and enable XMP i think its called which got the right timings, speed and voltage. I havnt shut it down since this morning but ive been told thats the way to fix it.

I am having a issue that I cant install any of the Asus software for some reason?

xmp should be ok but just check on the voltage for the ram make sure that it is set to 1.5v.

i have not had any problems with installing the asus software i would go to their website and get the latest drivers.

X.M.P. worked perfectly with the Vengenace RAM and my i5 2500k... 4.2GHz o/c which is all I'd want to try until I change my cooler.

RAM is correct timings and 1.5v, BLL Clock locked to 100MHz.

I have found that if you buy the fan housing kit which clips to the fins rather than using the wire fan clips, you can lift the fan that few millimetres to clear any ram with the TRUE. It does not affect the cpu cooling.
It is also a very easy job to remove the fan to install memory sticks.
