Uneven tyre wear, are they legal and solution?

I'm running Toyo Proxes T1-R on the fronts of my Golf VR6, recently I have noticed the outside edges on both tyres have been wearing away rapidly.
My first question would you say they are still legal?
T1-R's are renown for having a soft sidewall so are they just scrubbing away under tyre flex or is there an underlying problem?
I have noticed on full lock I can feel the tyres slipping like what would happen to a car with a locked slip diff, only very minor though, just when pulling on or off the drive for example, I wonder if this could be a problem?
As you can see from the picture there is nearly 5mm of tread left in the centre.
Handling and grip they are faultless so I don't want to swap for that reason.

The wheels are probably toeing in, causing the outsides to wear quicker. Get the tracking checked, it's usually free for the check only.

Looks fine.

You will get edge wear on some tyre wall/toe angle combinations. Its not illegal nor cause for concern.

I've got T1R's on all four corners of mine. All four tyres have worn like that with the shoulders of the fronts the worst affected. Thats after about 18k miles. Tyre pressures checked every 2-3 weeks.

Might be legal but I don't like the look of that second pic. Lets face it it is practically a slick on the outer edge.

Still, I would trust them more worn than the cack I have on my car :D

My T1R's have always worn the outside shoulder faster than the rest of the tread, and that's on my last 3 cars. Might be due to over exuberant cornering + soft sidewalls.
