***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

I was going to do one but didn't see much interest. I'm at 18 mill, you want me to sort your prize?
I think the interest is definitely there for people to make TT events rather than just plain MP races, just need to make the track and car interesting - I presume you can make your own track and share it too which is something Ill be looking to do with mine...

Go ahead and do yours - my prize car isnt going to be that impressive just need to find something suitable in the UCD soon - probably be a Jap Tuner car...
How much is the Toyota 7?? Iv got to do the historic cup (same as my flatmate) and might just spend my millions on it... (b-spec is the least exciting thing imaginable)
4.3mil IIRC

In that case. I'll probably do something like under 1000kg and 400bhp. Prizes would be 1mil car from the dealer of your choice for first and Racing Soft tyres for second or something?

Id recommend doing what Dyson did regards the competition car - yeah it involves gifting it around, but means no one can ever think its anything but fair. Im probably gonna supe up something silly (lvl 2 across the board) so it mean people need to work on their transmission/suspension setups. I learnt a lot about my driving style from playing around with that Panda and what info GT5 is actually telling me..

WANT, WANT, WANT! Is there any way to win this in the game, as I've just seen it in my UCD for almost 20million credits, and there's no way I'll ever have that sort of money.

One of my all time favourite cars, and in Gulf colours too!

I got that car as a prize car ticket, I think it was level 17 I got for golding all Expert races (maybe level 21)

I made a backup before using the ticket and restored it if I got a crap car, after 5 tries I got the GT40 Racecar.

It is also a prize car you get for winning the B-Spec Indy 500 endurance but that requires level 28 B-Spec

That original GT40 is a great car. I went back and did the historic cup again with it, just to see how well it could do. Was so much easier than doing them in the Countach, didnt even have to take the leader out on the first bend.

Ok, got my Race Modified ZR1 up to 905bhp, I forgot to add the engine ECU upgrade so now it’s a complete beast of a car. Yet, still can’t win the Like the Wind oval race, I’ve won Daytona so car should be powerful enough. Heck it does +225mph down the straights, thinking I might need to unplug the DFGT I’ve got plugged into my PC and try this, as oval racing with a DS3 is really, really tricky.

Is it me, or is the difficulty in this game either really hard or really easy? Doesn’t seem to be any middle ground…

I take the top gear test track as an example. The lotus challenge is tricky, yet the kubelwagen challenge is a complete breeze on the same track, and that’s the advanced challenge..

The Nascar challenges are a right pain in the backside, and I can’t seem to manage anything better then bronze for most challenges, yet the AMG challenges, most are quite easy to get gold, with little effort you can easily get bronze or even silver on most AMG challenges, try that with the Nascar events… Game seems so unbalanced in terms of difficulty.

Either that, or I just suck at Gt5.. lol

Racing soft tyres, max downforce on the aero parts and change the gearing to 255mph.

That enabled me to win "Like the wind" fairly easily with the ZR1, just remember to draft the AI till your in the lead and once in the lead try to move over so they can't draft behind you until you're coming up to the corners, no need for any braking at all really if you get the lines right.
