May I ask why you want to go X58?

I really would suggest going up to the P67 chipset. The P67 with a 2500K CPU or a 2600K CPU is a winner every time. The Giga P67A-UD4 is a peach.

Ram is heaps cheaper than tri-channel and performance is outstanding. Only upgrade worth doing in my view.

Well it will be cheaper for me to go SB, but im put off by reports of motherboard issues, especially with the Asus as asus are usually my brand of choice.

Bit off putter tho with the asus is people not getting PCI devices to work properly.

I'm running an overclocked 2500k on an asus p8p67 with no problems. Got a PCI wireless card in there. All good for me.
 
It is true that heaps of people (not just Asus mind you - MSI and AsRock too) have been having the odd issue. I think personally that it is to do with a rather immature new bios interface EFI. I guess that is the reason that Gigabyte decided to introduce the P67 range of motherboard with the older BIOS, and of course they have the option to upgrade to the new system because each BIOS is a 32Mbit Flash Award bios, not 16Mbit like in the past, this means future support for EFI, as easy as flashing the BIOS
 
FWIW, I have both PCI slots in my P8P67 Pro populated with a Hauppauge Nova-T 500 dual DVB-T card and a Compro S350 DVB-S. Both are working without any problems :)

Good to hear, i did look on the Asus forums and nobody there mentions any PCI issues. I also looked on the creative labs forums and no issues mentioned there either.
