Taxiing cant be that bad if you can justify doing near 1000 miles to stand in a carpark for a morning.

830 miles Fox or if i resist the urge to drive like a pleb on the way down about £100 in fuel hardly ridiculous :)

i'd understand your comment if I had said i would bring the LCR with its 18mpg shenanigans and ability to coax even the most sensible of people into driving like a tool

Plus accomodation. Last time I drive 500 miles to Scotland it took 13 hours..

pfft one day shot :)

6 hours each way probably a bit less if traffic is kind

leave circa 3 am arrive for 9
stand around in a carpark get told my vectra is making lots of torques but not many brake horse powers
befuddle the poor english people with my strange currency and berate them about it being legal tender
steal some biscuits drink some tea
head home about 3pm arrive home around 10pm :)

sounds like a good road trip to me

anyone else daft enough to come along?

So you would leave at 2am?

yes-maybe a bit later though, would want to get at least half a shift in ferrying drunks round Glasgow before i leave though

Sounds like a looong day! Not sure I would want to drive having been awake the best part of 20 hours.

meh thats a short day in the life of a taxi driver :)

a constant diet of red bull, snack van coffee and magic trees keeps you unusually perky :)

I thought this was going to be about a seperate Scottish rr day, which i'd be up for. Not a chance I'm driving to guilford or wherever it is though.

Actually Scottish bank notes are NOT legal tender in the UK, though it sounds like legal tender doesnt really mean what you think it does anyway :p

Slightly wrong/off with this bit really. It's an old myth that it effects only the 'Scottish' money.

English notes are not legal tender in Scotland or Northern Ireland either. They are only legal tender in England and Wales where that definition is used. English notes are automatically regarded as de jure promissory notes and lose the 'tender' status to match that of Scottish and Northern Irish produced currency as it is the only recognised status of 'currency/payment' available under the two latter seperate legal jurisdictions.

Through agreement it is customary in the constituent nations to accept any currency as 'legal tender', to ease the confusion and clearing etc etc.

Pointless argument anyway as you say :p

Shops can refuse any legal tender.

Jesus Christ Man

14 hour round trip to stand around in a car park with some people you've never met before ??

Are you insane ?

I'm not doing it, and its probably only a 7 or 8 hour round trip. Half the time.

Why waste the money going down there?

Go to powerstation by the airport, then waste petrol going up the way!

Least its better roads and nicer scenery!

Go on, you know you want too ;)
