Watercooling choices.

Looking to get a new CPU waterblock for my cooling system and I was just wondering, is there any difference (performance wise) between the acrylic back and acetal back versions of the EK LT?

I'm potentially looking to upgrade my radiator too, to the EK 240. Could anyone recommend this or should I look at a different radiator?

Finally, what coolant do people use? Might as well bleed my system while I'm swapping stuff round.

Absolutely no performance difference between those 2 blocks, its purely the look of them only.

I currently use the acetal one myself, not a bad little block to be honest.

The EK 240 is a good rad, so no worries about that, coolant wise, most of use use di-ionized water (car battery water from halfords basically) with a silver kill coil in the res, if u don't know that that is just google it.

Do the blocks come with heat paste?

Don't think so. My EK HF didn't.

Nope you will need to buy thermal paste, or re-use any u have.

Also google this and hit the first link "EK-Universal Intel/AMD Motherboard Back Plate"

Its not 100% needed, but it allows u to add more pressure when fitting the waterblock, so aids in better cooling.

Not sure about the LT but my HF nickel came with some mx2.

My LT didn't come with any at all, all you get was the block, and the mounting kit.

Every EK HF block i've had has come with MX2 thermal paste.

Not sure with the LT blocks?

You get those kinda thing with the block.. what the back plates do is to spread out the pressure evenly so the mobo dos'nt warp when u add extra pressure. Like i said they are not 100% needed, as the block will cool well without, but most use back plates so they can apply that little bit of extra pressure.

Fans wise, apaches/vipers/sharkoons or good old yateloons are all recommended.
