Hi all,

Can anyone recommend me any airsoft or paintball sites in berkshire please? Organising a social event for work.

I've always wanted to do the mall, but I'm not sure I can be arsed to change the spring in my gearbox. Damn SIG is a nightmare to work on.

Apart from Wolf Armouries, can anyone recmomend reliable and helpful airsoft retailers?

I've bought from Fire Support, Zero One, Socom Tactical, and all have been fine.

Also from ehobbyasia for bulk buys.

What are you after?

Possibly:

An M4 with quad rail interface system, at least one sub-machine gun like an Heckler & Koch MP5K, a couple of GGB semi-automatic poistols and lots of clothing to go along with it. A sniper rifle would be nice, too.

No idea if it's any good, but it's in the centre of Reading At Friars Walk.

I'm a member at FAO airsoft.. They're a good bunch of guys and always put on a good day. Some of the venues are great! They used to run days at the Drakelow tunnels down in Kidderminster that were awesome! A load of old WW2 manufacturing tunnels in the hills! :D

I've played at the mall a few times, the first was a standard skirmish. it was when they first started, no cap on members it was absolute carnage. Full auto almost everywhere. And since it's not designed as a site, it can become one sided. The second was a mil-sim, semi everywhere with far less numbers that was one of the better games i've played.

If it is a social thing for work, with airsoft. Make sure anywhere you go has a rental system, and book plenty in advance, several places also want deposits so bear that in mind.

For retailers i've used a lot of them. Fire support, land warrior, Xsite airsoft. Zeroin (and second hand through their forums). There are also plenty of HK places like ehobbyasia, ebaybanned, airsoft-club etc. That you can use. Although bear in mind import duty and courier fees. They are all generally the same, maybe a few pound here or there different.

Cool, thanks for the recommendations. Part of me really wants to walk into a store and see the guns before buying as I've never purchased aything like this before. I also want to be like Arnie in the gun shop in Terminator.

Well zeroins store is about an hour away, i've never been there though. give them a call see if they have a display area yo ucan have a feel. It's a good idea to anyway, most guns of similar design do indeed perform similarily, but the aestetics/feel of them can differ wildly, and you won't know which you prefer unless you hold it.

Where do you normally play?

I'm one of the Black Dragons.

Go to airsoft armoury then! It's like the gunshop arnie breaks into in Commando.... and is generally cheaper and friendlier than Wolf's lair.

Are you a ukara member, if not you cant buy a gun untill you are.

Can. It will just be 51% Snot Green or 51% another bright colour.

Also, there is no UKARA membership as such. You need to be a member of a Skirmish Site that is under the UKARA Scheme :)

Well, I fired off three emails to Airsoft retailers three days ago asking for recommendations on how to best spend at least a grand for filming purposes and haven't any replies :(

I guess these businesses don't need any money. Grr.
