Hey guys,

Doing a little spec-up (£250 budget) and looking at AM3 for obvious reasons.
Decided on X3 445, 4GB Geil, HD5850.

Wondering what the best board is for the remainder of the budget (around £50, no higher than £55).

Is there a better board out there than the one mentioned in title?

Thanks,
Cookeh

yeah thats a great board for the price point plus it will allow you to add another gfx card in the future if you wanted to

there is a custom bios they made for the guys over at another big overclocking forum that is stable and allows some really good overclocks. Someone on here did link to it but i cant find it.

Yep, strong overclocker as well.

Little concerned about their software and bios support though

That's exactly what I found. Bought my first Foxconn board a in Nov 09 and its been a cracking card but there are a serious lack of driver updates and official BIOS updates.

As for a community and help, I had no end of help from here. Loads of really knowledgeable guys, few who work/used to work at foxconn. I get all my updates from there.

Cracking board for the price and looks pretty nice too.

Cheers for the link, looks good.

Just need to convince parents to let me buy new PC or develop the arrogance just go ahead and buy it

Look in the clearance lines, There are some very good am3 ones in there quite allot of the time,( theres also one in the case section of the clearance lines).
