My ATI 4850 just died so looking to be something for the equivalent price. Best performance card for £130 absolute tops?

Will that run comfortably on an Antec 500W PSU?

I keep forgetting important stuff. It has got to fit in a fairly small case (Antec Sonata III) and will be acompanying an E8400 @ 3.4GHZ.

I'll go find the dimensions of it and measure up.

My current card is 9.5 inches and there is about 10 inches free so could be absolutely no bigger than 10 inches. Anyone got the specs on the size? Are you absolutely positive that it will be fine on a 500W Antec PSU? I won't be OCing it either.

the MSI 460 786 cyclone is a pretty short card. Ive got 2 and they overclock like a dream. however 1 can be had for about £120 from OCUK. definately worth a look.

It will run easily fine on the 500w psu. What case are you using?

Antec Sonata III. It came with a 500W PSU built in and I'm not even sure if it has two PCI connectors. I shall go take a look.

Yes, it has. Good. Also will these pre-order cards get to my house relatively quickly? And are they the same length as a referance ATI board?
Referance appears to be 9.5 inches, the same as my 4850.

Quick (and obviously late) note on the length of the card.

The 5850's are pretty much the same length as 4870 cards IIRC. However I'm aware that the Twin Frozr II cooler is pretty long as 3rd party coolers go. Two places I've seen list the length of the specific card as 257mm (10.07 inches) and 10.1 inches respectively. I'm not sure what the exact internal dimensions for the Sonata III are (nor if you're running the fan next to the HD bays) but if you're limited to 10 inches there's a fair chance the card won't fit.

Sorry to be the bearer of unpleasant news, fingers crossed it'll fit in there somehow. :(
