Little advice please

Meant to go on my brothers stag do tomorrow to amsterdam, Im the best man and organised it. However while trying to please all his mates I basically screwed myself royally as I have an exam monday afternoon and we leave 12ish tomorrow and return late on sunday night.

I had resigned myself to the fate of buggering up my exam and putting a first at jeopardy however I had an exam on thursday which didn't go fantastically well, perhaps just over 70 if im lucky. Therefore im not considering I don't go on the stag do at all in an effort to get the highest marks I can on mondays paper. Then again its my brothers one and only stag do...

Realistically im not sure how much work I will get done while away and by doing work I expect to bugger up his stag as I will be in foul form and unable to get trashed beyond belief.

Basically what would you OCUK'ers do? Just grow a pair, enjoy myself and take the hit? Try and manage time/booze carefully while there and get as much as I can done? Stay at home and study my nuts off?

if you were my brother and cancelled (pulled out), I'd never forgive you especially at this late stage. I would go, be careful and don't get wasted etc.

Its hardly a non event my only brothers stag do. I agree my exams should come first, but I think its about reaching a compromise between the two.

Cut down on the drink Sunday? - Take some revision with you maybe for the flight and when ever you get free time.

1st things 1st - if you go make sure that you do not have a bad hangover in the exam.

For me it would depend on how much I thought that exam might affect my degree grade...

If your brothers not a dick explain the situation to him, I'd put someone's future and education over a stag weekend every time.

How long ago did you organise this?

You could've worked that little bit harder to make up for the 2 days lost of revising before now and it would be a non-issue.

Was organised months ago. Unfortunately with timing I had an exam on thursday too.

Must say I am strongly considering not going - As many have said its the stag do not the wedding (though the tool has organised that on exam territory too) and with the exam hanging over my head I can't go mental on drink and will likely be crap banter because of it.

The exam itself is only 30% of the module and I should have about 60 out of 70% for the project part of the module. Its a clear opportunity to give myself a decent buffer incase of another slipup like thursday. Then again I will be grand todger should I not go on the stag I imagine

I would go, NOT drink heavily (if at all) on the last night, then from the moment I get home to the moment of the exam, cram the info in, ace the exam, then sleep for 3 days.

But that may not be practical or sensible for you.

Are you serious? If you even have to give this some thought then you really deserve to fail your degree. Don't go, get some rest and ace the exam.

The "yeah but I had to go on a stag do the night before my final exam" excuse ranks slightly below "the dog ate my homework". How is it going to feel in 10 years when you look back on the choice you made?

But you would happily see your brother fail his exams. What an awesome brother you must be.

I'd explain my situation and try and make it up to him

I agree with this. I can't see the logic in you seriously considering not doing your exam or doing it poorly etc due to drink

Go to Amsterdam, get high, revise then come back and pass that exam. Don't revise while you're high, it won't work.
