As stated, I'm looking for a new headset, would like some advice on what to go for. My creative fatality headset is dead. So looking for a new gaming headset for a budget of about £50 give or take each way.

Headset will be used a lot for listening to music and gaming.

One thing, must have a detachable mic :p

Slightly out the price range but these are top notch for gaming :)

(however none with detachable mike)

Kaves - (Wearing pair now) are very very good, Deep bass, amazing for pin point location in games (saved me many times) very good build and nice material but very large indeed. Music does sound fantastic on these.

HS1 - (From Memory of wearing) Very comfy and build from Corsair, crystal microphone quality & sound is very good. Lacks slight definition on the bass, but does what it says on the tin. Very worthy headset.

G35 - (wearing a pair now) Sit very comfy on the head and dont feel too tight. Build is also fantastic, braided cable is great for non tangles ( same as HS1 ) bass feels boomy, which is good not so much as the Kaves though. For gaming is very precise again and feels close with action. The driver application can increase the bass & dobly 7.1 virtual s/s is pretty awesome. Logitech never fail at gaming peripherals.

Overall all 3 are fantastic. My personal preference would be going for the G35s (also cheapest in UK on these) But the Corsair are also fantastic, more comfortable

Hm out of the 3 I think those kaves really took my eye. Although it doesn't have the detachable mic. Definitely considering these :)

and

"you already have the Kaves so that is out the choice."

I dont have the kaves o.o, although I might get them :)

Edit: Kaves bought :) Thanks for the advice

No problem! :) Glad to be of service. The end part was because this is what i said not long ago from another thread. Forgot to edit it :D :D

Yeah, the mic is really tight to remove. It uses a simple RCA type connector, the same as the red/white/yellow connectors on the rear of tv's, amps etc etc.

Once you break those Kaves in, not much beats them tbh.

Except for a decent pair of stereo headphones and Dolby headphone enabled. I know this because i've done it myself in the last week.

I sold my kaves a few days ago, went out and bought some good quality stereo headphones, switched dolby headphone on and never looked back.
Positional audio is more convincing and there aren't any breaks in the sound when switching from front left, rear left, etc etc.

Music also sounds weird on the kaves. It feels as though the drivers are 6" away from my ears.
Sorry, but virtual surround > 'real 5.1 headsets' any day of the week, and many people agree on that.
