Galloway likens Alastair Campbell to Goebbels

I know, I started the thread, but you can't say everything he says is rubbish based on that.

Well that is rubbish and he stated it, so he does indeed talk rubbish. You can't go around changing the goalposts by adding an "everything" in. :D

If he would have said "Campbell was Blairs Minister for Propaganda" most people would probably agree.

But that would be rubbish too. Campbell was never a minister. Not to mention that Goebells was meant to be the architect of the Final Solution and while somewhat odious I don't seem to recall Campbell ever proposing genocide...

He didn't just do that though did he? He stuck to form and compared him to Goebbels instead.

I don't mind George Galloway, in many ways I wish we had more politicians who weren't sheep and actually stood up for themselves. Just wish he wasn't such a plonker!

George Galloway is a disgusting example of a human being, and he should fill everybody that is unfortunate drop their gaze upon him with so much resentment that they feel queezy.

George Galloway was pretty much the only high profile politician who really consistently, unequivocally stuck his head over the parapet over the illegal invasion of Iraq and I entirely agree with him that Blair, Straw, Hoon, Campbell, Goldsmith, Scarlett and various others should be tried at the International Court of Justice in the Hague.

As to describing Campbell as Blair's Goebbels, it doesn't seem so unreasonable to me; I would say the same about Cameron & Coulson.

edit: Ooohh, I forgot Ken Livingstone & Glenda Jackson :o

Stockhousen, you are one deluded individual if you think that Galloway is a man of honour. Do you know why he was original suspended from the House of Commons? Do you know why he was expelled from the PLP?

This is a man that said the downfall of the Soviet Union was the worst day of his life, somebody that openly supported the Red Army's invasion of Afghanistan. He's a disgrace humanity and should be regarded as such.

I like George. I don't know much about politics but he always seems to make sense to me. I don't know why he gets such a hard time.

It would probably have something to do with the unmatched corruption, the undying support for genocidal; middle-Eastern theocracies and the fact he has been consistent in his view that the terrorist attacks of 7/7 were our fault, and that it would be morally justifiable for Tony Blair to be murdered.

i don't find his sympathy for middle eastern regimes that hard to understand.

Their culture is different from ours. Who are we to dictate how they should run their country. If they dont want democracy, who are we to say they should have it ? Likewise with their human rights credentials. Who made us police of the world ? Why can't it be the other way round, and them be the police telling us that we're wrong ?

He does have some valid points that its wrong to assume that WEST = RIGHT and EVERYTHING ELSE = WRONG which is the view that many take.

His comments on blair arent that far out either, we did go to war on a false premise so people do have every right to be angry.

meh, the guy supports Palestine and calls Israel the real terrorists because of war crimes and breaking international law ect. He talks about the failure in Iraq with the false WMD's. The guy seems alright to me tbh, he talks about sensitive topics that most leaders try to avoid.

All I know is if George had a chance to respond to that it would make sense.

He didn't say that though, Dimbleby read the quote then Galloway recalled what he actually said, his words were to the effect that if he was an Iraqi and had suffered like many Iraqis had since the invasion he could understand why people may want to kill Tony Blair.

.

Can you come up with a decent reason why campaigning against the suffering that even the people living in those countries don't want, is somehow a bad thing?
