You'll need to open some. There's a link earlier in this thread (easier to find via Google probably) with the list of ports needed.

You really don't need to open/forward ports unless you're running an extremely strict firewall setup (99% of people on here won't be).

edit: People that are having problems - what ISP and router are you using?

Hi, glad you're getting used to it.

Medi kits are an unlock. I'm not sure how many points you need. But once they are unlockled its key 4 to select them.

thanks topgun for that, im still trying to get my 1st upgrade to major 1 i believe it is or something like that lol nearly there tho. I have only just found out about the "Q" spot. Do many people actually use this? im not to sure exactly what it does and how it works but i'll have to have a play around with it :)

Some people don't bother. But try to get used to using it when you can.

It can be used too sport enemies that you didn't know were there. Also, it can get you points if the enemy you spotted gets killed by someone on your team.

But I don't think you run around spamming the 'Q' button as the action gets disabled if you press the button too much within a certain time.

I often play as Medic with the G36 or whatever the late one is. Must admit that the amount of ammo makes it very easy for me to go up against 2 or 3 people at once and drop the lot of them. I always drop medikits for anyone around me and will run considerable distances to drop one at the feet of people that I see low on health.

On the defibbing issue, its a lose/lose situation for medics quite often. Usually I wont defib someone if I think they will just get killed immediately again, if we are under fire or if I think that by running out and defibbing them I will simply get killed and leave us in a weaker position in that location. The trouble is that then often the people will moan that they werent defibbed, run and defib them and then often people will moan that they didnt want to be defibbed because they either died again or wanted to change class. Just as with MMOs, playing the healer is often a thankless task.

On a sidenote, I tried those config edits mentioned a page back and my K/D ratio shot through the roof, I went from getting around 1:1 ratio to getting 3 or 4:1 last night. Will be keeping those changes :)

Well thats partially because they didn't include something so fundamental as a DNR option. You get ressurected in some useless location in Conquest half a second before you were about to respawn at another point to defend it or on an ally for attacking. Or you get ressurected with absolutely no ammo left (damn you Rifleman!). Or you get ressurected in front of the guy who just killed you since most Medics are retarded.

Seriously the other day i shot someone at point blank and turned round to see a Medic running straight at me from about 15m away with a damn Defib out he was so oblivious.

Try this fix. When I used to use Be/o2 routers it helped with pretty much all games:

http://www.trickery.net/bb/showthread.php?t=51178

This is down to the cackness of the speedtouch routers rather than anything with o2/Be's connection. I advise getting a different router to be honest.

Just tried that but when i try and enter my router using Admin it doesnt work, SuperUser works though but gives me Access Error: 404 -- Not Found.

o right i see cheers for that, can you use it with any gun or is it a general thing that you can just use regardless? without spamming it of course

Spotting is quite broken because it can highlight people even if you can't see them and sometimes does it in a fairly large area too. Spamming Q is obviously wrong, but if you can see/hear gunfire from a certain area but can't see them or just want to check if someones camping in that area then trying the odd Q spot might light them up. Also helps if you know there are Snipers on a distant island or camping spot you can try and light them up. Its great fun when you point an AT4 at the red triangle a mile away and watch as 5 seconds later it collides with there face.

20 points for a spot Assist plus 10/30 or 20/40 for any kill assist damage since the target now has a 'kill me' sign above his head. Its funny really that you can actually get more for spotting it and dealing critical squad damage than you can for the kill itself.

I'm a compulsive spotter.

Even if I've seen someone and can easily kill them I'll spot them first. Can work against me points wise as team members can steal the kill but at least the guy's dead!

Helps if they suddenly bolt into cover though.
