macbook pro and firefox problem

am fairly new to macbooks with only buying my macbook pro is nov. over the last week or so a problem has started in firefox when im scrolling using 2 fingers to swipe up and down where it will freeze quite quickly and stop scrolling and i then have to to use the scroll bar at the side of the screen,

has anyone else ecperienced this??

in what way is firefox a dog, is this a common probem. for everything else i find it pretty good.
i tried safari and didnt really get on with it.
 
I often see people saying that Firefox is rubbish on OS X but personally I've never had a single issue with it. It's quick, reliable, never crashes and I've not found an adblocker on any other browser that works as well as AdBlockPlus on Firefox.

Adblock Plus is available in Chrome.

Firefox used to be good on OS X, but since the RC 3 release it's gone a lot slower than where Safari and Chrome are able to perform.

+ everything is quick on a Mac Pro :p
 
cheers all. im trying chrome for a bit and it does seem a little quicker. at present prefer firefox but the scroll keeps freezing which is annoying
 
pretty much settled on chrome it does all that i need. its definatly a lot quicker than firefox and im not getting the annoying sticking two finger scrolling.
 
It really is shocking how slow Firefox is on Mac OS X. After quitting the app, it can take me up to 20 seconds to boot it up again, to a blank Firefox Home page.

It used to be my favourite browser, I swore by it. I've since moved to Google Chrome and am much happier. Good choice sir! :)
 
I have never had a problem with Firefox. I hate Safari it just feels clunky and I wont support anything that Google does, they are plain evil.
