Hey everyone, i would like to get some advice on what motherboard to get, i have narrowed it down to these two

MSI P67A-GD65 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge)

or

Gigabyte P67A-UD4 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge)

This is what i have going on it

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge)
G.Skill RipJaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C7 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Cooler Master V6GT CPU Cooler
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
EVGA GeForce GTX 570 SuperClocked 1280MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

The reason im asking is because this is my first build and i guess im looking for a board that would be easier to use and mabe overclock at some point
(when i learn more about it ;) )

Thanks for your help guys :)

I would personally go for the MSI GD65.

Also i would take out the ram, cooler, gpu and replace with these:

Inless you prefer the brand evga dont go for the superclocked verison not really much more performance at all in gaming.

The cooler, 1156 socket is the same fitting as the 1155 socket, there are better coolers like the one i listed for cheaper than that coolermaster.

The ram, the ripjawX are less volts than the ones you was thinking which sandy bridge perfers.

Thanks for the reply, i have already bought the ram and cooler last week.
So if i change to voltage on the ram will it be ok? i have herd that 1.65 is the max voltage for sandybridge so im hoping it will be ok ?

Also is the MSI board easier to use or just your preference ?

The Gigabyte board gets my vote. They are rock solid and do not seem to be giving users problems as some other boards appear to be doing.

Best of all their support is outstanding. There are heaps of threads on various international forums where BIOS updates and other kinds of useful information is being shared. Not sure you could say the same about MSI mind.

But at the end of the day you have to decide what best suits your needs.

I have a Gigabyte P67A board by the way. But I am certainly not a Gigabyte fanboi - I own a pair of Rampage Extreme X58 boards II and III variety for example. But the P67A boards from Gigabyte are outstanding value for money in my view, and outstanding quality in build.

Thanks for your reply man, i guess what im looking for is the most user friendly board :)

Will do ;)

So are both makes of board easy to use and update ?

Yeah both are and you would be very happy with either.

That link i showed you dont let it put you off because its not official yet and that board could have been abused before it got to that guy.

As stated both are really good boards.

Thanks for all your help guys, just to update i went with the

MSI P67A-GD65 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge)
ordered today with a Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge)

Thanks again :)

Let us know what cooler you went for and what ram, as i would like to know if you had any clearance issues installing the cooler with the ram.

Cheers ;)

Good choice, the UEFI bios is less daunting than the traditional bios and is a more pleasant user experience.

Msi boards have always been stable as a rock for me and this board has been no exception, even with the early p67 niggles ive not really had any instability other than setting the memory correctly.

I went for the Cooler Master V6GT CPU Cooler and the G.Skill RipJaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C7 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit :)

I'm hoping they will all fit on the board fine with no clearance issues ;)

+1 for the Gigabyte vs MSI

I want to have faith in MSI but after being burnt 3 times over the last 12 years I tend to prefer Asus and Gigabyte.
