Counter-Strike: Source Videos

5UB, your videos are ace man. So good to see Cs vids with Drum & Bass in them, and not the typical heavy metal crap!

Slightly OT, comming back to CSS after a long (3years) of slack, what rates are people using ect? I see servers are all 66tick now. I used to use 30000 101 101 always, whats best now generally as a starting point?

I've got mine set to 50k 100 100. But seeing as most servers enforce cmd/updaterate I guess there's not much point.

It's not the servers, it's the netcode. When Hidden Path took over the development last year, they "listened to the community". In my eyes they killed the game - at least for me, I stopped playing it because of what they done to it. They are slowing redeeming themselves, but it's nowhere near as good as it was say last year, maybe even two years ago.

The movement server/client delay killed the game for me. The delay can be as long as 2 seconds.

**delay in this case means simple movement, such as strafing corners, ducking, and standing.

The addition of achievements was the worst idea ever, since your not meant to be distracted during a match so they are turned off anyway, cs's strongest point was it's competitive scene, hence pointless addition.

/rant off, sorry I'm hating on css :P

tell me about it, amount of times i've moved out of cover, fired a few, moved behind cover, then like what seems like an eternity after, bang headshot i'm dead and it's like wtf i'd already moved away, started reloading and then I die.

But I still love it.

Agreed, the formula of having to rely on money for guns completely dictates the way you play, unlike certain class based (choose you unlocked weapon and go) games were camping is the only tactic needed to win.

Well here it goes,

quick note: when i shoot the guy through the box at the start what happened was i went to scratch my nose and knocked the mouse out comes the bullet and i shot him through box, had to be on teamspeak at the time i didnt even realised i shot someone :)

If you are like me, you will be listening to it for a whole week running. :)

Nice find. :)

Do we still have games going and a server running for CSS?

I remember about a year or so ago we had one two nights a week, I think Link had a server and then someone else but how about now? :o

Was good fun IIRC. :(

5UB be honest, you were listening to that song in the 2nd video of OP when you posted that pic of you in the other GD thread. :D :p :)

Cool song. :)
