Best card for £130 or less

OP can you report back if it fits in your case?

I'm eyeing up the same card and I've got the same amount of room in my case.

its pretty dumb how amd has the power connectors on the END of the card, it shortens the amount of room some of us have in our mid size cases.

power connectors on TOP should be standard with the increasing length of cards.

Lol don't sound great... I WILL make it fit.
Well currently my PCIE power connectors go through largish holes in the HDD bay so it should be ok.

I'm eyeing the HD 5850 Twin FrozR II, too. Looks like my 8800 GTS 320mb died the other day. I left Minecraft running and came back to the PC switched off and vertical lines on bootup screen, then BSOD. :(

Could anyone tell me how this card might compare to the 8800 GTS 320mb? I've been out of the loop for several years. I'm running on a E6850 with Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R, 4gb and a 520w corsair psu.

Much better than the 8800GTS and your CPU may nearly be bottlenecking it. I'd suggest clocking it up a bit.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I suspected the cpu might be dated slightly. I might have to get rid of the stock heatsink fan and see what I can do.

I'm really just looking for a new gpu to tide me over for a year or so when I'll be building something new and beastly.

My ATI 4850 just died so looking to be something for the equivalent price. Best performance card for £130 absolute tops?

I'm in a similar boat as you except my 4850 is still going strong but would be looking to upgrade soon and I am also looking for the best GPU for £130 and at the moment its either the MSI ATI Radeon HD 5850 Twin FrozR II, Radeon HD 6850 of the GTX 460 1GB but cant choose between them.

There is good chance that I'll go Crossfire or SLI so would want a card around £130 that also has the best scaling.

Antec Sonata III. It came with a 500W PSU built in and I'm not even sure if it has two PCI connectors. I shall go take a look.

Yes, it has. Good. Also will these pre-order cards get to my house relatively quickly? And are they the same length as a referance ATI board?
Referance appears to be 9.5 inches, the same as my 4850.
I have the exact same PSU, Antec Earthwatts 500w and it powers my 5850 Frozer II with no problems ;)

Looks like the price has now gone up to £144.98. But I got in just in time and my new card arrived this morning. I found the card to be almost an inch longer than my 8800gts and slightly awkward to arrange the power cables because the hard drive was nearby. Looks like everything is installed and working nice. GPU-Z says the average idle temps are about 31c. I can't see much wrong with that. I had an added surprise in that the card came with a free copy of Assassin's Creed 2. That wasn't even listed on the site. :D

Thank you for all the advice and help.
