I don't know how or why but my trackpad has just gone **** up basically.

I can't click anything...it's just not registering.

However the touch aspect is working ie, I can move cursor etc.

No idea if this software or a hardware issue.

Need some help. :(

Cheers :)

Edit: since when was that a swear word???

My mate had the same with his. It was a hardware issue. He connected a USB mouse to enable tap to click as a work around until he got it repaired

Will be a trip to the apple store today then. :(

Do you think Apple will do it for free or charge me - it is out of warranty but I thought they sometimes honour the fact that its a design fault.

Like they did with the white Macbooks which used to get cracks in them. :o

That was embarrassing. Got there basically its packed out with people at the meadowhall store so he said go to web, book it in with genius bar etc......got home and thought, right ill change that setting now wheres my magic mouse. So dug it out of my bag to find it was on and then on the macbook noticed a problem with the bluetooth (had a ! over it but never took notice of it before), and the mouse was flashing green while I always keep it off when not in use.

So turn off magic mouse, turn off bluetooth, and believe it or not, its working fine. Turn bluetooth back on, still fine. So wierd...I guess it kept trying to connect the magic mouse (that was meters away from my macbook - in my backpack).

So a happy ending - oh and I ended up walking out of the store with one of those new Apple Trackpads as I liked it so much. :o

:)
