Hello All,

Just after youre suggestions,

My PC is making some odd ticking sound I think it may be coming from the powersupply but I cannot be 100% sure,

I have unplugged all the fans one at a time to see if it was any of them I've also checked to make sure that no cables are touching any fans the only fan I can not get to is the one in the powersupply, but thats only 1 week old so I can not see it being that.

Any idea's??

Many Thanks

OK hilarity over....

Have you had your ear in the case to try and locate where the sound is coming from roughly?

Most searches seem to point to Hard drive failure as mentioned in previous post, but don't take my word for it, i just had a search around for you.

Best of luck fella

It's deff not the HDD, I've had the side panel off and had my ear up to the HDD no sound coming from them it's all coming from the back of the case, IE powersupply or PSU cooler....

I just stopped the PSU cooler from spinning and it's still ticking so it's not that, I hope it's not the powersupply it's only a week old rofl

Take the PSU out and try the paperclip trick. What PSU is it?

And what is the full system specs?

paperclip trick??

It's a XFX pro750W, I did read this on Newegg

Hello all,

I may be getting this PSU very soon (I am looking for a new mid-range solid PSU) and was told that this is a decent one. It also seems to get pretty good reviews, although several users have talked about a "clicking" noise the fan makes -- sometimes a few days after they install it, sometimes a few months.

Does anyone here have this unit? If I encounter this clicking after I buy it, is there any way to fix it myself? Or do I just have to keep RMA-ing until I get a non-clicking unit?

So can the fan be replaced with a better one myself??

this is my rig spec sorry I forgot to add it

Then if that's the case, seeing how power hungry the 470 can be... it could be straining the PSU a bit too much?

Ummm I was told this is the best one to go for and that 750W would be more then enough, it does say that it's SLI ready, it's only started to do it today it's been in my pc for aweek without any problems

My corsair h50 use to click when i first got it when it got to hot. i think it was the pump, i know you have,nt got one but just thought i would mention it:)

from what I've been reading about the PSU I have is that the internal fan is sometimes a little bit lose and thats making it click, so solve the issue they have turned the PSU upsidedown, would this work???
