Petrol prices I have to sell my RAV4 so frustrated

Have you decided what you intend to replace it with? I can't seeing much being significantly cheaper to run?

You may be right & i'm a big believer in what will be will be. But if it does sell i'm thinking Ford focus maybe? Up to 1600cc. As long as it has 4 doors & is ateast a 2003 reg like the RAV, & say no more than 60k on the clock, I will be happy. Step dad will be lending me his car if I do sell it, until I get another, so I dont have to rush into anything.
My insurance went from 20 a month to 50 a month when I went from the 206 to the RAV4. That alone is a lot of saving for me tbh. I'm the only parent in this house, so only one wage. If it doesn't sell, that's fine. I love the car anyway.

That does seem high for a Rav4, not much less than my insurance. I always pay for mine annually though rather than monthly, infact, doesn't it actually cost more to do it monthly ?

I dont really get the people moaning about how much decent tyres cost. If you've got a Fiesta on 14's then decent tyres are about 30-40 quid a corner. If you've got 17 or 18 inch wheels then perhaps rethink your choice of car!

Yup, 155x70x13 £14 each and not ling longs :D
BARGAIN.

Ah yeh, sorry that;s paid monthly (I thought I said 50 pounds monthly?)
I cant afford an outright payment. With the 206 I was paying 20 monthly, now it's 50 for the RAV4) I dont have any points, but I did make a claim about 4 years ago, my fault. But I had protected no claims, so I have max of those.

Unfortunately JanesyB's smugness in this case really does not really apply to the dig he is trying to have at me.

It sort of does because you readily accept that it can be handful and you don't have any driver aids and that it is a powerful car, yet you bought the crappest tyre you possible could as a quick fix and it's a good few months down the line and guess what, it's still on the car. Now you have to bin it and get a pair of decent tyres, throwing away whatever you spent on the linglongs, thought you didn't like throwing money away?

You also state there is a market for part-worn tyres, surely if you realise this, if you sold those wheels a few months on you could have sold the tyres on and recouped some money. At the same time as the last meet I bought a new pair of tyres despite intending to sell the car (I haven't, like you didn't get the new wheels) and I have a pair of tyres I could do another 10k on easily. I guess we have different attitudes, I don't like throwing money away but at the same time I don't mess about. As I said I've had one part one develop a nasty bulge after a run out and I'm not going back there again.

I've already explained this. I put making the car faster over making the car better. It is something I realized was wrong and it is something that I am trying to work on :).

I 'threw away' £20 compared to nearly £200. An extra £180 in my wallet means a lot to me.

Key word would be "some". I certainly would not have got anywhere near the amount they had cost me.

If I knew that It'd STILL be waiting several months down the line to complete my set of wheels I would have probably done things differently but at the end of the day it is a minor thing. Nobody has died and nobody has crashed.

I'm probably lending myself to the "You can't afford it" argument again but I can't take the cost the replacing two tyres in my sizes lightly, certainly not if I can afford not to and certainly certainly not if I can foresee them getting binned in the near future. If I had a car where I could get half decent tyres for £40 each I wouldn't have thought twice about buying a pair, in fact I'd have probably ordered a full set, but I live to my means.

And you continue to climb the league table of 'huh' posters in here...

The Soarer's entire point was to be a big, comfy GT car.

What is with you lately. Its like theres some sort problem and your taking it out on anyone who dares say anything which you don't completely 100% agree with.

I don't remember seeing a pic of his soarer anywhere...I just imagined it would be something along these lines. :p

I have a low tolerance for opinions posted for the sake of it without any background knowledge at all. The Soarer was one of Toyotas most luxurious cars.

So in reality then you had absolutely no idea, yet posted anyway.

Sigh.

What?

How is this possible? A 27mpg 1.4 Corsa? If you were driving in circumstances that you returned just 27mpg from a 1.4 Corsa there is no way you'd then get 55mpg from the diesel variant!

Sorry what was wrong with that?

In what way is that anything like implying that a Soarer isn't a 'comfortable car' when you later reveal you dont actually know what a Soarer is? I'm perfectly aware of what a Corsa is.

While i differ from Fox's opinion on a lot of things, i will join in the WTF statement here. The soarer was one of toyota/lexus' finest hours in terms of luxury GT's. They are actually very very good. And thats coming from a big proper GT fan.

Yeah I don't know what a Toyota Soarer is, I also wasn't born in 1991, didn't grow up in the Philippines, where might I add Toyota's simply don't exist.

You win fox.

You are not doing a very good job of convincing everyone I was harsh to claim the stuff you post is just plain odd at times here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with not knowing what a Toyota Soarer is. Quite why you are telling us where you were born I've absolutely no idea, i mean what? What a strange thing to say.

If you dont know what something is why comment on it, I don't understand

Oh btw, Toyota most certainly does exist in the Philippines.

*cough* best read my post again you crank.

Sorry you've completely lost me now. So you are saying you do know what a Soarer is? So why act so shocked when somebody mentions it was a luxury car
