I recently bought a Toxic 5850 and I'm blown away by the graphics and performance (I upgraded from an 8800gts).

I'm looking for some game reccomendations to help showcase the cards potential, with an immersive environment and peaceful gameplay. No frags, headshots or tactical nukes !

any ideas bar Oblivion ?

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition
Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY

Both great looking games and doesnt contain the crazy fast pace of many FPS games.

Try something from the city builder genre

Tropico 3 and Anno 1404 have pretty graphics, people die in them but for the majority of the time youre just looking after your people and you can play at a snails pace.

People keep saying how pretty the landscapes are for Lord of the Rings: Online (I wasn't that impressed with what I saw though, although the day time skies looked good, and at night you might recognise constellations).

As the game is free to play now, you could check out some screen shots before doing the massive client download. And if any of the area's look pretty, just consider if you'll even be able to get your low level character over to there.

Link for Europe version.

Stalker SoC with complete mod? One of the best looking games/mods out there. At night in the moonlight you can just wander around if you want to.

Though it is a shooter.

Mafia 2. Dont do any of the gangstery crap. Just wander around a beautiful city, have a look in a few shops, take a stroll through a snow drenched park and watch the people walk past as time passes by, go to a bar and have a nice drink, get a car and take a casual drive next to the harbour, beat up a tramp, stand next to the pier and watch the reflections in the water.

Haha I do that on GTA4 so much. Even sometimes stop at traffic lights and drive slow and wait in line lol. Then head down marina and go for a gentle sunset cruise round the whole outer map.

Id recommend GTA4 for the same thing except it runs like a hog even on good fast computers.

eg:

1920x1080
high textures
all sliders at 25
definition
shadows medium
night shadows off

4.2Ghz AMD 955BE
4GB 1066
NV 470GTX
SSD

and i get da da d d d daaaaaa.....

41fps

depressing lol
