15 month old pc goes pop!

Basically yeah, as everyone else has said it's going to be your PSU... Should be covered by the warranty though I guess... although some companies return policies to RMA cost is annoying :S

But yeah, hopefully it didn't take anything else with it... good luck!

the psu wasnt bought from OcUK, only the CPU and RAM was.

gonna pop out this afternoon and get a 500w psu to tide me over (assuming nothing else is dead). I'll definately put things @ stock though.

Well with the aid of a new PSU im back up and running.

Now fun and games with the RMA process. I've never had to do anything like this before so hopefully its not going to be a horror show.

As i said previously, it wasnt bought from OcUK. Lets hope im not going to regret that.

Not sure what Corsair's RMA service is like, but it's a decent company so I would think it would be fairly decent. I think at 15 months old you would be slightly outside the 12 months that retailers usually give for their own RMA.

Anyway at least you're back up and running without a fried CPU/Mobo/Ram/GPU which is the main thing.

Hmm so glad i didnt choose a corsair psu

You're writing off corsair, because he's having an issue with his? Every brand of psu has had it's issues, it's just the ones with the less issues that you want. If you based a purchase on whether or not a person had had a problem with it in the past, you'd never buy anything  lol

As mentioned above though, it's most likely the psu. Just need to hope it hasn't taken anything else out. With it being a decent brand I'd certainly hope not! Keep us posted mate.

Glad its back up and running from what i gather its rare for a Corsair to die like that but it does happen as with any electronic item.

Corsair is one of the most reliable brands when it coems to PSUs. You see one thread where one that goes pop and you discredit the whole brand?

If anything the fact that it didn't take anything else out with it just shows how good they are. A cheap psu could have done untold damage.
