Gtx 260-216 upgrade to ???

i upgraded from 260 overcloked to 285 speeds to 6970 very good upgrade, you can upgrade to 6950 and flash it to 6970

Hmmmmm think I'll watch this thread in the same position myself, although if you're decided on nvidia only surely it's just more about your budget? ;)

So as cplhardnut said the GTX 570 which is the best nvidia card you'll get for under £300.

I've the same card and am upgrading too. What I'll be doing is waiting for the GTX 560 to release, which will be tomorrow (25th) apparently.

It's looking good and most likely to be my purchase, but if it somehow falls short of expectatons I'll probably just get a cheaper 460 (perhaps another later on)...or maybe stretch for a 570.

In power the 460 wouldn't be a bad upgrade I kinda want a card with more memory though the 260 has 896mb and I've seen that maxed out quite a lot :(

Would a gtx 460-1gb be a good upgrade from a gtx 260-216 and would the gtx 460-1gb be enough for the latest games with my resolution of 1920x1200 ?
You best wait for GTX560...it should hit just the right spot for you in terms of performance and price, and it should be out this week.

But of course if you can afford spending more, then GTX570 is a great card...but at this point, we don't know exactly how much faster it is comparing to GTX560.

Upgraded from a GTX 260 CORE 216, very heavily overclocked to a GTX 470 and it wad pretty impressive boost. GTX 560 sounds like a very good upgrade option particularly if they overclock well.

I did that same upgrade...from a 260 to a 460....great difference :) really noticeable difference and easily overclocked to near 470 speeds without a voltage tweak...see sig for model :D

I'd wait for the 560 though as it's due out this week

bugger, i just brought a 570 from a 280 yesterday. was this not the correct choice?

Was the 570 inside the 280?. That 280 must have been huge and what an Easter egg to find inside a GTX 280, a future card hidden by Nvidia. It's clear to see that Nvidia are the company that just keeps on giving.

Oh, you meant bought?. My bad :p.

Just messing with you after quite a few people saying "brought" instead of "bought". Hope you don't it to offence :).

The GTX 570 is a great choice :). The GTX 560 will just be a cheaper card that is hopeful of promising headroom for overclocking but I'd rather have the GTX 570 over the 560. It's just common sense.

The GTX 570 is a great card, runs quiet and the Nvidia drivers are loads better than they used to be.

Thanks for that J.D. i dont mind a bit of friendly banter :)

The card does sound a lot quieter.

i normally only go for the card that is top of the line so this was all new to me :)

i just couldnt afford the 580

Damn fuel prices are eating my wages :S
