Hello there,

I'm after opinions on which Freesat HD box to buy, as there doesn't seem to be much choice compared to Freeview. Freesat makes sense for me as I'd like to ditch Sky instead of pay more per month to watch F1 in HD, and our house does not have an aerial. The brands seem to be Humax which I've never heard of and Goodmans, Grundig. I don't want to have a rubbish box as I'm used to the niceness of the Sky+ device. What I'm after is snappy menus etc. and decent recording ability, 2-3 channels at once would be nice.

So anyone that uses Freesat HD, which box do you have and what do you think of it?

Thanks :)

I'd go for the Humax, you may not have heard of them but they have been around for sometime and have been making great freeview boxes and satelitte boxes for a while.

I have a Humax Freeeview PVR, which I've been using for over 4 years and it's brilliant! I'm sure their Freesat HD boxes will be just as good too.

Humax Foxsat HDR.

It's the defacto Freesat box. Has many awards and can be upgraded to support 1TB+ HDDs.

Standard Humax HD box (no recording) here and I've found it excellent. Quick to setup by just attaching the sat cable, inserting some info (ie. postcode etc) and running the scan.

That one looks very nice but is quite pricy :) I'll look at the cheaper Humax ones then. Cheers guys.

You can buy a grade a refurb direct from Humax for much cheaper than you can see it online.

Do a search on Google :)
