Dead Space 2 .

The Plasma Cutter was my favourite weapon in the first one, just playing it through again on the PS3 atm after my first completion was on the 360. I never realised how good the graphics were either, great looking game imo. :)

Agree here on both points. Plasma Cutter best weapon in the game (I fully upgraded it as fast as I could on this latest play through) it certainly packs a punch.

Also I have a much better TV these days than I did when I first played it. Really nice looking game. Sound is top notch, too.

I heard that your fully upgraded plamsa cutter from DS1 carries over, is that correct?

Nope, you just get access to a Refurbished Plasma Cutter, which isn't upgraded to start with (though I can't remember if my original Plasma Cutter was fully upgraded or not).

Are they still using nodes and workbenches to upgrade weaponry in DS2?

Yep. It's supposed to work much better. I just hope you don't need to collect as many nodes this time as it was quite silly how many you needed in the first game.

Yup, nodes and workbenches are still here. You'll need several playthroughs to fully upgrade everything, as by the time I finished my first playthrough I had only fully upgraded one weapon (Plasma Cutter), had upgraded 3 other weapons partly, and had a nearly fully upgraded rig. That was with buying about 10 nodes as well as finding every one I could.

replaying DS1 right now and forgot how scary it is. lol. Love it.

I was saying to myself... "RUN RUN RUN RUN AHHH DOOR NOT OPENING AHHH." *dead* :D

lol but thats why you were sent to the ship in the first place, to fix it.

:p

Maybe, but it feels a lot like it's only one step away from 'Get the Green Key Card to go through this door'... now you have to backtrack again to find the Red Keycard to get through the red door.

The lack of any response from the main character made it feel more wooden and unemotional.

"Hardcore is the hardest difficulty. It is the mode where there are no checkpoints and you are only able to save 3 times. Gonna be a fun challenge :)"

Ouch

That's what annoyed me to be honest. I played through twice - got all the nodes and bought all the nodes I could and I still didn't upgrade everything:rolleyes:

See i managed to get all of the nodes before i landed on the planet in my second playthrough. Dunno if you did the same but i relied solely on the plasma cutter and line gun and sold all of my other ammo in my second playthrough which gave me lots more money. Another trick i learnt is that enemies drop ammo more often for guns you're carrying, so i made sure my two spare weapon slots had the weapons that dropped the most valuable ammo.

I did the same on 2nd playthrough. Using only the plasma cutter I managed to cash up pretty fast and bought nodes when I needed to for the cutter and the suit. Apart from plasma ammo I sold everything else (health and air pickup/drop plenty).

Freeze, lop off limbs, repeat.

Game is out there on the net since today is the release day in the US. Will wait for friday and buy the special edition for the PS3 to get extraction. Might even pick up MOVE.

Been playing DS1 and the graphics still hold up. I do however have a pretty decent gaming pc (5850,quad core ect) but would feel weird playing it with a 360 controller. Thats just me though.
