Volkswagen thought it would be a good idea to have the GTI as a trim level instead of a proper hot hatch. Though obviously they made that too.

This this one is a 2 litre with 115bhp. Yaaawwwwnnnn.

I think people aren't questioning the car itself, more the fact that VW stuck a GTI badge on a car that takes over 10 seconds to get to 60 and it isn't particularly GTI like.

Phew thought you meant he had a fake but you mean the trim is GTI trim level rather than the hot hatch GTI engine etc

That is very confusing though - when you see GTI you think boy racer hot hatch etc not just a level of trim

It's a heavy car with an 8v 2.0 engine producing 115BHP, a 1.6 Focus of the same age is almost as quick. Not sure why VW diluted the brand with such a slow GTI.

115bhp and 0.62 in 10.5 secs. My 1.9 diesel Fiat Sedici is almost as quick as that lol.
