I need to sell my RAM and a case. I have had a look at eBay and it seems like there's a million other people selling the same things, and with no bids.

Just wondering what experiences people have had with selling online, and where you would recommend I do so. Where is a good place to actually shift my spare gear?

Members Market on this very site is the best place, but you don't qualify yet unfortunately

You need 250+ posts before you can access the market... Frustrating at first, but worth it when you get access :)

Wow. That's annoying. I won't qualify for a long time yet and could do with selling ASAP to recover some of my lost funds.

What's the next best thing would you say? I haven't sold anything on eBay for years and don't remember the fees being as high as 10% plus additional costs (plus PayPal fees?).

Ebay is easy to sell on just make sure you undercut similar items by a few pence and write a decent description with a nice clear picture, you can also send the case via cheap courier using something like Parcel Monkey. Alternatively you can sell things on AV Forums classifieds too, but if you're a new member some of the experienced buyers may ask you to send 1st before payment as you would have no feedback.

Nice tip with Parcel Monkey, cheers.

The thing with eBay is I bought the case for £65 (+£9.50 shipping but with other components). I have removed the HDD cage remember.

Don't know how much I could get for it but lets say I sell it for £60 with shipping. £5 goes to me shipping it, £6 goes to eBay, plus PayPal take a cut don't they? Plus listing the item, plus an extra £5 for buy it now I think.

Buy It Now doesn't cost £5. Google Ebay calculator if you want to see what costs would be in theory. There are a few good one's that even add the paypal fee's on. I have to say though, you do in theory lose a lot of money from using ebay especially since they double dip you with paypal too. :(

Access to the Members Market forum requires two things. Firstly, you will need to have over 250 posts and have been signed up for at least 90 days. Please note that this does not mean you spam the forums simply to increase your posts, as this action will result in posts being deducted, and if you continue this behaviour, your account will eventually be banned/suspended. Once you reach 250 posts, you will need to activate your trust. This is either found in your UserCP, or you can press the trust button that appears at the bottom of all your posts.

so looking at your join date you not be able to use mm till april even if you hit 250 post.
