Thinking of getting a Foxconn P45AL to replace my Gigabyte EP31-DS3L - better overclocking potential as it has 8pin supply to the CPU and the EP31 suffers from vdroop/vdrop - more SATA ports and the option to select IDE mode which should fix my LG BH10LS30 drive disappearing when resuming from S3 sleep.

Would I need to do fresh install of Windows do you know - or could I just boot up into safe mode and install drivers ? Windows 7 x64 Home Premium is my OS.

Many thanks
Ben

As a rule of thumb I always re-install Windows when changing a major component like the motherboard. It gives you peace of mind knowing that everything will work smoothly.

You can get away without re-installing but personally I prefer to do it :)
