Most economical car for £1k (or less)

My monthly train ticket into manchester also worked out about the same as a normal fare for 4 days a week.

So a monthly season ticket for the cost of 4 individual days? Bit of a no brainer really!

I think he means the equivelant to 4 days a week (x4 ish for a month).

Mike you probably won't listen but I can't add anything to the excelent replies in here already. Fox really has gone out of his way spending time doing 2 sets of clacs for you. Be grateful he has doen this, but I would be worried if he hadn't :D

Also add on another 20% for contingency onto his figures as he has a few generous figures in there.

Take the damn job locally if you can get it!!!!! I spend about 2.5-3hrs daily commuting into Canary Wharf from out of London and it isn't that fun. I'm used to it but also remember that with driving you are going to be constantly stressed and having to focus your mind on the task in had all the time. At least on a train switching off is easy.

As I have said, do what you can to drag out until redundancy then take the other job!

I was under the rather (stupid) assumption that a ticket for a month was the equivalent of 4 individual day tickets. How wrong I was, and I assumed your previous post mocking me.

Really? I was chuckling because I thought you were right.

Its not far off though in terms of equivalents. From Bournemouth to Waterloo is £580 per month with a zone 1-6 travelcard or £153 per 7 day travelcard.

A peak return is £94 with travel card so effectively 1/6 of the Month season ticket cost.

No brainer..
