Just a name I've not seen here in ages that used to hate ATI. Because he wrote to them supposedly concerning R600 and ATI just ignored him, so when the R600 came out a lemon due to Microsoft bending over backwards as Nvidia failed with the original DX10 spec, he was like "If only ATI had listened to me" then started a hate on ATI like a possessed man.

I had a few run ins with him due to idiotic statements .

I took a break from the forum for a while and when I came back, Mav was no longer here or posting so that's why I suspect it might be him. I bet there are probably a lot of disgruntled Nvidia or ATI nut huggers though so I'm probably wrong .

I did say I was probably wrong in the post above. When I was reading the hatred for ATI from SkyRocket and now from CUDA (but to be fair CUDA is pretty transparent ) it reminded me of Mav. I actually seen a reasonable person in Mav, shame that was only in non graphic card related posts .

I've just not seen him so assumed he had been banned one time at band camp and this maybe could be him. Oh well. I wonder who SkyRocket was then?.

The Crusader like defence people seem to have for their graphics card producers is somewhat worrying, I say! But I suppose it's no different from the whole Xbox vs Playstation debate really, is it?
Personally I just bought a 6950 from ATI, but deep down, I have a preference for Nvidia Doesn't mean I respect the Reds any less.

i have a genuine reason for disliking nvidia im just lucky that ati are best costerformance for me as well, [even if they werent id still go with them if they were close]

I don't get the xbox vs ps3 thing either. I guess it's because these things cost money and you invest more than just that into it.

I got a 6950 last week because i've been after a new graphics card forever, and just made £1300 on the bay selling some servers. If i'd have sold them this week, i'd have bought a 560 I have a PS3 because there's less crossover between it and PC gaming than with an xbox - but given some more space under the telly i'd have one of those too.

Any team from Manchester is scum tho.

Aye, but I see it as funny rather than see it as worrying.

Don't get me wrong though, I've stuck the boot in against Nvidia for removing/disabling DX10.1 code from Assassins Creed. Also for slapping a new sticker on a cooler of a card, a new BIOS and calling it a new card. If AMD were to act in that way I'd act in the exact same way I have in the past towards Nvidia if in discussion about them. I had the R600 so the DX10.1 removal directly affected me, or was aimed to at least. G80 stomped it though, AA at last when I was gaming .

I like either company. I just don't appreciate an attempt to take my boost in a game away from me just because I'm not using a card made by a rival at the time.

My friend has both the Xbox 360 and PS3, he also has a big mirror in his livingroom where he usually plays them. I wonder if when alone, that he argues with himself in the mirror? (PS3 is best "oh noes it isn't" followed by "Xbox ForTheWin"). I wonder also who wins the argument, also if he keeps scores?. I'll have to ask him and then point him to this thread .
