I have just spent hours installing windows 7 64 bit. I installed motherboard drivers for my Asus P8P67 pro, windows updates, all my programs etc.

I have just checked device manager. I know I should have checked it sooner. Under other devices I have PCI Simple Communications Controller with a !

How do I resolve this? If I uninstall it and do a hardware refresh it just installs it automatically and again has a !. I have tried doing an update driver software but get told windows could not find a driver for your device.

Some old components won't work in 7 without updating drivers (if they're available). I had a Belkin wireless G card that I can't find any drivers to work with win7.

Just had a google of your board and noticed it has bluetooth built in. I'm taking a guess at it being this. Download the bluetooth driver from Asus and install it. Let us know how you get on?

"Yep, its the Intel Management Engine Interface. Had the same problem on my p8p67 pro. The driver should be on the install dvd.
"

that is from another forum post on the same issue

"I have the same thing and even updated to the latest Intel chipset driver v9.2.0.1021 - Asus only has .1015 driver up. I'm wondering if maybe its the HD 3000 IGP that we can't use..?

EDIT: I got it! It's the Intel Management Engine Interface driver. After installing it the Unknown device is no more. Here's a writeup on what it is:

More importantly where to get it:

Yes, this says it's for the ASRock P67 board, but it worked for me. It's also newer than what Asus has for the P67 Sabretooth (but somehow I can't find a direct link off their site)

Asus really needs to get their crap together and update their site too.

sorry cant link as it may be a competitor

Thank you for the replies. After installing Windows I downloaded all the latest drivers from the Asus website.

I always thought a ? in device manager means Windows can see the device and is asking for the drivers. I thought a ! in device manager means Windows has installed the drivers but the ! means their is a problem with them. Am I right? Mine has a ! not a ?

I have tried getting it to look at the Asus CD but again it says no driver can be found.

The only things I have added are a GTX 580 and Asus Xonar D2X
