i'm currently in the market for a venomous x black, tho finding it hard to source one without ridiculous p&p to Northern Ireland, you'd think i was in outer mongolia

but anyway....

i kmow the question of fans pops up all the time but does anybody have a venomous x and can point me in the direction of good quality and, hopefully quiet, fans for a push/pull config? wanting to push my i5 as high as i can and this is the best cpu cooler i can find that i'm sure (99% anyway) will fit my mobo and ram

cheers.

Having owned a TRUE black, (the vx is basically an upgraded version), i tried several different fans in push/pull, out of them all i found the akasa vipers to be the best. Other fans were.

Sharkoon silent eagle 2000's
Sharkoon silent eagle se modular cable
Arctic cooling F12 PWM
Arctic cooling 12025 PWM

All of the above had good airflow through the cooler fins, however the silent eagle 2000's were pretty loud and ideally need a fan controller.

back with another question, sorry :o

think i may go with the vipers, simply cause they look purdy and plenty of reviews rate them very highly. so do i need some sort of splitter cable to plug into the cpu_fan header in order to run 2 in push/pull, letting the system adjust their speeds as and when necessary.

had a quick browse round the cables section but couldn't see anything that seemed to do the job, tho i may have just been blind!

ahhhh, again cheers gents. i actully saw that cable but didn't wanna make a tool of myself asking if it would work!

so that leads on to the next and hopefully final question, how/where do you plug that in to get the fans controlled by mother board, or do you just plug it into a molex connector on the psu?

edit. ignore. just looked at the close up pic and i see a cable on it marked 'connect to motherboard'

its got a male connector for the motherboard, and a molex for power, and 3 female connectors for the fans.

really this is the last question, well at least regarding fans i take it these are the vipers setter is talking about

just wanna be sure before i hit purchase :p

just to warn ya all tho i'll be back shortly with more questions as i'm planning a minor upgrade regarding gpu and ssd in the next day or so. originally planned to do it prior to chrimbo but an engagment ring got in the way and seriously dented the finances :(

Yep, got a bit of a multicoloured theme going on in mine lol.

ohhh purdy colours.......me likey likey.....how sad that a man of my age gets so easily attracted to bright shiny things, had i researched a bit more at the start instead of being dazzled by the bright lights, i'm pretty sure i wouldn't have a case full of useless (but pretty) led fans!!
