Got a speeding ticket

Just don't speed? It's not difficult to keep within the speed limit.

Sometimes you might creep over I guess, but just ease off a bit!

Some idiots make my blood boil. I had one guy, I was going a hair over the (on that road 40mph) speed limit, according to the GPS anyway, and this mouth breather storms up behind me flashing his lights, trying to overtake in heavy oncoming traffic on corners.

When he eventually stormed past me beeping his horn I would have given a lot to see him obliterate himself on a tree or large concrete pillar or something, alas I was denied such. :(

He obviously wanted a race, when he's overtaking you downshift and plant it, to see who wins. :p

If you got done for 40 in a 30 then your speedo was probably reading 43-45 as they're almost always over-reading by a few MPH.

Naughty!
Agreed, especially as he was supposedly slowing down from a 40 into a 30, he must've been closer to 50 in the 40.

You're not likely to get offered speed awareness at that speed, it's usually the speeds that would read below 40 that you get offered it, does vary county to county though. I don't personally think there's much wrong with speeding on NSL or some limited roads, but I take full responsibility if I ever get caught, which I have done twice.

LOL

"Boo Hoo" - They keep on putting speed cameras up in slow areas and I haven't bothered to slow down by the time I'm caught.

And that is anybody other than your own fault how exactly?

Meh, either way, everybody speeds at some point but some people drive slowly on purpose I find, they see me coming up and then ease off the throttle so what was 33MPH is now 27.

Those people are annoying!
I'm sure there's something about my car that must make it look like a police car in rear view mirrors (no idea why, Mk3 Golf), I get people who were speeding slow down to the speed limit, I've even had people pull over to let me pass, I don't drive agressively at all so find it quite amusing.

Op just sounds like a whiney young driver who has no respect for the road. I personally think anyone under 25 who gets done for speeding should be getting a months ban so they can respect the road, its speeding youngsters that cause all our premiums to go up.

Maybe the cop pulling you over saved you from a fatal accident due to your high speeds.

I get that in my vectra. The look on their faces when I go past and they see the sunshades, car seats and baby on board sign is hilarious...:D

I think that the common thought is the under 35mph is classed as 'driving without reasonable consideration' if the flow of traffic is normal.

That's what I've heard somewhere anyway.

From what I‘ve seen they only do people for travelling at very low speeds. All this 30-35mph limit business is a bit of a myth.
