My ViewSonic VP930 19" PVA needs replacing im looking at £250-£400
Decided on 24" as be nice to have the extra room and the text pitch size seems to be larger than on 23"
Presume my Nvidia Geforce 6200 will be fine to run it, it supports the resolution size, i just dont want any lag type issues?

Main use is Internet and Office Work, with occasional video editing and photo work, no games at all and no TV or Movies
IPS seems to have overtook PVA and in this price range I can only find 2 monitors on the market in this size all the rest are 23"

The HP ZR24W, which is Standard gamut only or HP LP2475W Extended gamut

Not sure which of the 2 to go for, I don’t know the difference and after some research still not sure, I don’t have any hardware calibration, nor do I do any professional work, so I suspect the standard gamut one would be best, although this one seems to be out of stock everywhere at the moment.

Anyone know of any other monitors i could consider?

Was looking at the Dell U2410 but it is more than i wanted to pay, is it worth the extra?

yes the u2410 is worth the extra, or maybe even a u2711

out of the two HP's though, go for the LP2475w for the extended gamut

I'd go for the ZR24W, its standard gamut will be much easier to work with unless you're dealing with wide-gamut material right throughout the chain (from camera to screen/print), which is unlikely in most cases.

One thing about the 2 HPs is input lag, while neither is bad, the cheaper one has 10ms while the LP2475W is 25ms. These are not bad, but it is worth mentioning that the cheaper one is better in this respect.

Got my LP2475w and initial impressions are good! No dead pixels and I cant see any of the pink/green colour uniformity issues that were reported in the main LP2475w thread. The monitor was manufactured in 0ctober 2010 and is problem free which makes me feel like I got a real bargain at £364.99 when some people paid over £100 more for the same monitor that had issues.

I can see what people mean when they talk about the colours being over saturated due to it being wide-gamut but it is not that bad it just gives the colours a rich and glossy feel. The initial settings are to bright but Im sure with some adjustment it will look awesome.

think im going to with the ZR24W, i know what im getting and its the cheapest, i dont need wide-gamut so dont see the point in paying the extra, just want a monitor i can set up easily and use for general use. Still cannot find stock anywhere though, seems some are saying 1-2 weeks, wondering if its coming up to be discontinued as its out of stock everywhere?

I've just been in touch with Hp and they've discontinued the LP2475w so I guess they won't be restocking them.
Did HP say they've discontinued the ZR24w as well? A few people have speculated they have since pretty much all stores have been out of stock on them for about a month or 2 now. I can't see the reasoning behind them discontinuing the model if they have.
