Nissan Qashqai

The Mrs is still driving around in her ML but tried to convince me a second hand TDV6 RR Sport was a good idea the other week - im not so sure..... :D

I'm happy with my purchase it was that or a Ford C-MAX.

Looked at the sportage but it was 21K without any of the trimmings. Once metallic paint and tow bar sat nav etc were added it was around 1.5k over the qashqui couldn't bargain the guy down either.

Budget was 20K paid 22k couldn't stretch to 23.5k

yes i don't like diesels either but try selling a petrol to the belgians they love their diesels.

Probably something to do with the fact that the road tax is 50€ less 1 litre of diesel is 25c less and the tax on the road (TMC) is 472€ less.

Care to name some alternatives? Think it would be difficult to name some myself. Were talking crossovers here, so dont bother naming full blown SUV's or estates.

I can only think....

Murano - Massively more expensive, and only option is 3.5 V6 petrol so nowhere near similar.

Kuga - Limited engine choices, but other than that a candidate. Not sure about prices.

Honda CRV - Limited engine choice. Not as economical AFAIK, and also more expensive?

What else????? Im sure theres some peugeot/renault stuff too maybe.

Skoda Yeti either Petrol or Diesel, 2WD or 4WD. Pick your potatoe.

Are you not thinking of the Roomster? - That has a slight resemblence to the popemobile, but I can't see it at all in the Yeti

I know what your saying, and the roomster is absolutely aweful, but the yeti for me doesnt have a great shape.

Id sooner have one of these

I think people are forgetting that the OP's not in the UK, but FWIW I agree.
However, horses for courses and whatnot.

My sister was after a Qashqai +2, trouble was she had trouble sourcing one that she wanted in the right colour (Black) with the right spec.

She ended up with a (used) Merc e320 cdi which is a very much nicer car.

Peugeot 3008 I'd take over the Qashqai upon testing both for my Mother.

Her 1.6 HDI EGC (like DSG) returns about 45mpg round town and feels nippy enough suprisingly. Interior is also good for a french car and the boot and the way the rear seats fold with one button is a really good design.

Cant fault the Nissan, i bought me mum one it never let her down.

Agree. Same engine as in my wife's C3 Picasso. Nice and nippy around town and not too underpowered on Mways either. Returns 65mpg+ v.easily on Mways too.

im picking mine up a week today so ill take some pics.

Im 38 and family guy not really into motors loved the top gear review of the yeti but after sitting in one i just dont like them nor the square roof which im sure they'll change soon also the boot space is tiny in them... no figures on that just from memory also they were more expensive (at least in Belgie) than the qashqai...

Anyway decision was made next 5 years will tell still got 5 years warranty so no worries
