Got a speeding ticket

From what I‘ve seen they only do people for travelling at very low speeds. All this 30-35mph limit business is a bit of a myth.

There isn't any rules about how slow constitutes driving without due care etc. It all comes down to the situation and an officer's judgement.

To those telling me its all my fault and I'm a frap driver..

I bet you can't drive or you also speed on the road.

Do the crime, you do the time.....

At least when we/I speed we don't get caught......well in the a few years that is (*touches wood*).

Unfortunately you're not going to get any sympathy here....you knew the limit, you chose not to slow down in time, end of the day it's nobody's fault apart from your own even if the camera was on the border of a speed limit change.

You either get offered it or you don't. If you don't get the offer, you have to take the FPN or go to court.

My Mrs was caught doing 35 in a 30 zone in Bath about 18 months ago and elected to go on the speed awareness course rather than taking the points. For a start I've no idea how she managed to get to 35 mph in Bath during rush hour but there you go.

Ever since she did the course though she now drives like Miss Daisy. She rigidly keeps to the speed limits most of the time (motorway driving is now fun). One of the most annoying things she now does is say a road has a 50 mph speed limit on she'll do 40 ish even when it's clear. If I ask why she doesn't speed up she said that the course people told her that just because it says 50 doesn't mean you have to go 50. She's the sort of person I now get stuck behind going to work in the morning :)

I was pulled over once because I overtook a car doing 50mph in a 60mph limit. Clearly I went right past 60mph to over take him as quickly as possibly. There was a mobile van near where I over took. Technically I was breaking the speed limit by a fair margin... however the police officer was fair and did his checks and left me on my way. I'd have been a bit annoyed to have been fined/pointed for that!

I hate people who drive under the speed limit. If the road conditions are good then why go any slower?

Because those people are turds, they thrive on making life a chore for everyone else :p

Then they go home and complain about Top Gear and how Clarkson has said or done something that has offended them.

And they also have caravans and clog up the roads in the summer :p

I thought the people in camera vans were paid workers, not actual police officers.
