Group Review

ill watch the video when i get home, but I feel the need to get this off my chest.

A mate of mine (that is 21) has just ordered a DS3 VTR (not the racing, just the 150bhp one). Brand new. For £16k. cash. He decided he couldnt be bothered saving for a house anymore and blew it 16k of his deposit money (practically all of it) on a supermini :( £16k buys proper cars! I nearly facepalmed when he told me

These 2.0 N/A engines such as the ones in the Clio and a couple others, IMO are the pinnacle of how a hot hatch should drive and feel, and soon to be the last. I believe they are turning to the 1.6 Turbo unit too.

FI Don't do anything for me, as quick as they are you cannot beat a high revving N/A engine :)

Sad but true... High powered, Large Engined N/A cars are being replaced with smaller turbo'd engines.

£24k for the DS3 racing?!

I'll have a Megane RS for that money please...or numerous other/better cars!

Naturally Aspirated

Such cars do not rely on Superchargers or Turbos (Forced Induction)

Couldn't agree more, the engine in the clio 200 I tried was absolutely brilliant. Fantastic little car overall too imho.

Have you tried the same engine in a 182? Much much more fun! Does not quite have the breaking and conering speed as the 200 but IMO a much more focused pure drivers car. Not that I am biased :p

You should have palmed your hand right into his face. Buyers remorse will kick in soon enough after delivery anyways, so there's not much now you can do now.

The mind really does boggle. Why you would want to drop 16k on a car like that! literally insane!

I can well imagine! although I've never had a chance to drive that generation clio. I'm sure they are brilliant. A definite consideration when I next buy a car.

Evo bum the Clio hard. It made me realise that perhaps I haven't got anywhere near it's full potential on public roads.
