I’m looking to replace my current machine that is four year old.
Currently I use my machine mainly for desktop applications and World of Warcraft (Processor intensive IIRC) but play other games also. I’m happy to do a bit of overclocking, but I won’t be trying to push the limits. One of the other key items is for it to be quiet.
I would want the new PC to last somewhere between 3-4 years without holding me back or having to do major component updates. I’m currently running a 24” monitor at 1920*1200 and don’t intend to replace it.
My budget is really flexible, but equally I don’t want to massively overspec and this is where I need help!
I’m thinking something along the lines of
i5 2500k
Asus P8P67 MB
MSI ATI Radeon HD 5850
Corsair TX 650W ATX SL
GeIL 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz (not sure on 4GB vs 8GB here, but it’s not a huge price difference)
SSD – Is it worth it? – Would 64 GB be enough assuming that I would only put Win7 and WoW on the SSD?
General thoughts?
I’ll throw up a full build with the rest once I have a decent look for the rest of the bits.
