Forgot what actual name is for it, its the official GT5 wheel.

Think i have been a bit to heavy handed on it which as led to putting a crack in the circuit board behind the buttons what are on the wheel.

Did this a while ago but could still use it with GT5 as long as it was set to 2 player and i used a normal control as 1 player.

Now i want to go back and try F1 on multiplayer and of course you need all the buttons to work on the wheel to be able to play the game properly.

Any way i could just buy a new circuit board whats in the actual wheel part of the thing? It still has plenty of warranty on but doubt logitech will replace it, seen as it is my fault being a bit to heavy handed on it.

Don't seem to be getting anywhere, when searching google.

Thanks

Define heavy handed? I mean surely these wheels being force feedback should be able to take some hammer? If not then surely it qualifies for replacement under the SOGA for not being "Fit for purpose"...

Get it replaced or at least try before breaking it open and destroying all hope of a warranty claim.

if you have warranty left then they have no choice than to repair or replace. Unless there are obvious signs of abuse, such as dropping the wheel etc.

Is it a driving force GT? I was going to get this wheel when its finally back in stock but I'm not so sure now. Might save up and get the G27 instead.

Yeah im heavy handed with all things, i palmed it as in like "for **** sake" when i got spun off the track. Didn't rag the thing round room just gave it a quick lil love tap and carried on with the race, few races later all the button slowly start to stop responding properly.

No point trying to return it to logitech as its clearly my fault, plus already opened it up out of curiosity and the keys circuit board has a little hair line crack in the middle of it.

So wondering if its possible to just buy that circuit board from anywhere?

If its just split a few of the copper tracks (not sure what they're called) on the circuit board it'll be fairly easy to solder these back. Glus the board together first with super glue. Then scrape the copper to make a good solder joint.

If you dont have a soldering iron then this looks like a decent buy, going to get myself one.

Not played with one of them for a long time! May actually invest and have a crack at it.

So where will i find a replacement circuit board for this steering wheel after i have melted a massive hole in it? :D

Hi there i don't think logitech will send you the part, Are you pretty sure it's the circuit board that is faulty cause i've had my wheel apart a few times and it would be pretty hard to break the circuit board behind the buttons unless you hammered it one.

Regardless if it is that it may be able to be soldered back together again. Can you take a pic of the offending part and post it up and i'll let you know if it will be an easy fix with some super glue and soldering iron.
