Great choice of components - how much does that all come up to?

Any reason why you have opted for 8GB of ram instead of 4GB and no GPU for gaming?

@hdpcgamer - around the £456.00 mark with a wireless card.

thanks to ALL who helped with suggestions.Hoping to start the build on sunday if all goes to plan.

One more thing guys, where do i place the mobo during build as i dont want to fry it with static?.

thanks again and i will update you on the build. cheers

Leave it in the Anti-static bag until ready, alternate I just place mine on a wooden table.

+1

And sod anti-static crap etc etc. I've build tonnes of PCs on carpets, and haven't killed a thing - just ground yourself before (i.e. touch radiator pipe or similar)

You got yourself a nice PC there for £456.;)

I would agree, just leave the motherboard in its anti-static bag until your ready to build the system and REMEMBER to ground yourself everytime you touch a component, especially the motherboard as I did manage to kill my MESH PC motherboard years ago from static shock.

Since then, I've learned to ground myself and have had no problems since.:)

thankks for warning hdpcgamer. I wont forget to ground myself.hav not started build yet, too knackered At the moment. will keep you posted. wish me luck.

thanks everyone.

will do.could be a while ;-)

Just in case this hasn't been mentioned already. Once you have installed your all the software and have the system running exactly the way you like.

REMEMBER to create a backup image using Window's 7 built-in backup or using Acronis True image 2009 as they can be life-savers should anything go wrong with the system.

Many people are unaware of these problems so when something goes terribly wrong, some people have to resort to re-installing their OS again and then install all their programs etc which is very time consuming.

sorry for late reply guys. having car trouble at the moment :-( hence still not started build.
@Dreadi - cheers mate. cant wait .

@hdcpgamer - thanks for mentioning the tip. i will make backup asap

I also forget to mention that you may want to create two partitions on your hard-drive, one for the OS along with all your programs and the other for all your data i.e. movies, photos, games, music etc so when you create a backup image, it is stored on the other partition because you cannot store a backup image on the same partition as your OS.

Having your OS on a seperate partition will make your system run more efficient and snappier and again, in case there is a serious problem and you are unable to boot up, at least all your data on the other partition will be safe and you can use a recovery disk to restore your backed up image from your other partition.

If you are using Windows 7 64bit, then you may want to allocate around 60gb for the partition, as this should be enough for the OS and all your programs and windows updates plus future service packs.

Sorry for not mentioning this important information before and I hope you haven't started installing windows yet.:)

Images are fantastic. they truly nullify all that 'you have to maintain windows computers and defrag and they get viruses' crap.

Re-imaging mine takes about 20 minutes. and then ive got a fresh machine. ******* AWESOME.

i tend to have 2
1) fresh install of Os with all drivers working.
2)install of Os, all drivers working and my desired applications and games.

Yeah, thats the beauty of them, once you load up a clean backup image, the system runs an feels like a fresh machine.:)
