Hey all,

Some of you will remember me posting a thread about buying a house last year, it had a few problems, but was a good price for my first house.

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18187597

Now I know its a long time coming but the house took a lot of work, and a while to get ready for photos with unpacking etc. Its still not 100% but near enough that I am happy with it (For now ;)).

I have not included pictures of the second bedroom as I am now renting it out to a friend to help with bills!

Having never done any DIY before I am quite pleased with the outcome as I said there was a lot to do and I ended up doing some tiling, ripping out and reinstalling the kitchen with new units and cooker, plumbing in the sink and loads of other things, which was quite good fun!

Anyway, below are the pictures of the house before and after, hopefully someone finds it interesting, I also have some during work pictures if anyone wants to see those:

Firstly some of the living room, posted in a Before then After order with a few misc pictures at the end. This room and the whole house was re-carpeted, had damp damaged fixed, and general DIY and decorating, removing the coving was a pain, and took many hours of sanding even with a power sander!:

Moving on from the living room we have the kitchen, which was gutted, several units replaced, an integrated cooker/hob fitted and a new sink, with new plumbing, it was also re-tiled and re-floored, the first two images showing the general condition when started:

The electrics in the whole house were also updated, with a new fuse box and RCD installed, and all sockets, switches and light fixtures replaced, as they were a little unsafe! We also had mains smoke alarms fitted for safety:

Next up we have the bathroom, first pictures show the before and after damp damage, which was removed, treated and re-plastered in order to solve the issue. We also fitted a power shower and retiled the bathroom:

Now going upstairs we have the hall, which was redecorated, and had some plastering done to fix cracks and holes:

Get rid of the red carpet, put in hardwood or even laminate flooring.

Change the balustrades.

Move the electric box to the kitchen or the porch.

Need some art work on the walls

Otherwise nice work :)

Good effort a nice little turn around, box in the electrics and put that TV at a sensible height and you about there.

Really well done mate. Lots of little jobs to be done there, but it will have added value and made life easier. Good luck with it all :)
