I was lying awake last night (feeling ill at the time) and the bloody tune from "We buy any car" was going round in my head over and over again. I hate it, it's an awful advert that makes me cringe every time I see it but it's obviously percolated into my brain because of sometime was to ask me a website to sell you car on, it'd be the first name that would spring to mind.

Whether I'd use it or not is another matter, but maybe visibility is more important, and if 10% of the people who have the tune stuck in their head like me decided to sell their car that way, the advertising has probably paid for itself many times over.

Another one is the "Compare the Meerkat". Now that one has got out of control - stuffed toys, biography etc but again if you were to be asked to name a price comparison site....?

So, which ones do you hate, which ones do you hate but have stuck in your brain and which ones do you hate, have stuck in your brain and you'd probably use if the need arose?

Go Compare - I will NEVER use this site thanks to that advert.

Can't argue that it's not memorable though :-/

I make an active decision never to use said companies who advertise in such ways. Examples being webuyanycar and moonpig.

GOOD or funny adverts get my vote. What was that stupidly silly one with the shower gel which hangs in the bathroom or something. That raised a smile just for it being so daft!

The most punchable face on TV.

'' hey andy i would like to sell my car for a price that rips me off hugely''

then i would definitely remember the we buy any car adverts

I don't watch ads on TV. We barely watch anything live, just stuff pre-recorded on the PVR. We just skip through the ads.

I just sold my Merc A CLASS
I just sold my Ford S MAX
Honda
Civic
Nissan
X-Trail
I just sold my Rolls PHANTOM
I just sold my Land ROVER
Audi
TT
Polo
TT

Polo TT? WTF

I did a study at college and the conclusion was that if only 1 out of 8000 who saw an advert on ITV during actually bought said product, then the advert would have paid for itself.

Go Compare,
Go Compare,
When in doubt check them out go Compare,

With just a few clicks save your spondoliks and you'll thank your stars that you went to go compare,

Yes you'll thank your stars that you went to go compare.

BOGOF :/

Oh, there's some CO-OP (iirc) ad that bugs me, sort inspirational husband-type that wants to do lots of nice things with his wife and family, instead of wasting time going to a supermarket, instead go to the CO-OP kinda message.

AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Now its stuck in my head..... Thanks...!

Pretty much all these adverts wind me up, and I hate that advertisers resort to stupid, childish and obviously cheesy adverts that are annoying but stick in the min because they are so annoying.

However, I quite like the whole Compare the Meerkat franchise; not only is it obviously very successful, but I genuinely find it quite funny :D
