Nespresso Question (Citiz/Citiz & Milk)

Tesco (or ASDA I forger) have already expressed an interest in making their own. Was in a newsletter someone wrote into ages ago.
Cool, wouldn't do any harm for Nespresso to have some competition.

For all those with Nespresso machines, I would recommend the capsule tower sold by John Lewis: http://www.johnlewis.com/186881/Style.aspx

We got it as a Wedding Present when I am pretty sure they were £40. Not sure I could justify spending that myself, but now they are £27 and look really smart when filled up with the capsules :)

You know, I ordered my first capsules and noticed all these fancy trays and dispensers and thought, pff theyll be in sleeves, surely I can just take em out of there.

Now I realise theyre a bit of a fiddle if I get low on some crus since theyll be at the other end!

Ergo, thansk for the headsup on that capsule tower.

Also, is it me or is Nespressos delivery charge frikkin expensive?

If you order over a certain amount (think its 200 capsules) they oh so generously drop it to £2.95.

As much as i love their coffee i cant see myself buying one of their £40 perspex boxes you can put your capsules in, madness. Its a tenner for a pack of biscuits for poo sake! Nespresso is somehow a designer brand name it would seem...

Sorry to keep bumping this, but i logged on to my Nespresso account a moment ago and in the "my orders" section, theres an order for a credit note to me for £40. Ive had no emails from Nespresso regarding the rebate im due so im wondering if i order now does that get taken off the payment, or does it work some other way? I daren't click "buy" just incase the rebate doesnt come off as i was planning on ordering the welcome box at £70+ and id rather not lose out on £40.

Ta :)

Spot on. Happened the same way for me.
Except I was trying to order kit for less than £40 and it came up with an error. Turns out I'm supposed to order more than £40 to take advantage of the credit. So I spent £43.95 :)

Press that buy button! (And I hope you are not ordering it next day for the rip off 10 quid!)

On your head be it! :p

No next day option for me luckily, must be due to it being in Northern Ireland, not that id ever be that desperate for coffee anyway.

Cheers Cav

Edit - Didnt realize it doesnt charge your card at the next step anyway, could have just clicked buy anyway and it wouldnt have charged me either way

Awesome, lots of lovely coffee and a fetching presentation box shall be at my door in 96hrs :)

Edit 2 - Oooo it seems im getting a free cup too, bonus!

No worries fella :D And you lucky git for free cuppage! :p

Which one is it?

Ive no idea, i can only see a very tiny pic of a white cup (i assume the Ritual collection), theres no description and no link to the product, but it says "Quantity = 1 Price = £0.00" which it says for the Discovery box which comes with the Welcome Pack.

Im hoping its not a mistake though :)

Edit - Order Picture to show what i mean

I ordered the Welcome Offer. It came with 250 capsules and an empty discovery box (which is huge and a waste of worktop space, so not even removed from packaging - judging by auction selling prices it would seem many agree it's pretty useless). It did not come with a cup but I do not remember seeing the icon either so maybe that has some relevance. Worth noting is that I did not get any of the money off voucher/rebates that have been discussed in this thread, incase that matters at all.

Well I've just ordered my Citiz this evening, should be good for week day morning coffees when i need a quick espresso on the go, my other half converted me to Nespresso over my Gaggia, convinience wins!

I ordered the slim version without the Aeroccino as I'm mostly an espresso drinker although I'm starting to regret not spending the extra £50 on the Citiz and milk!

As soon as my £40 credit gets cashed I'll be grabbing a welcome pack :D

Yay my order arrived but Boo no free cup :(

Discovery box is lovely though. @ RastaManBob The packaging for the discovery box is much bigger than the box itself by the way, just incase you looked at the massive box and thought it was too big from that.

Anyone used the Citiz range of cups? I got some free and they are really nice. I love being able to see the colour of the coffee.

I really like the look of them, how did you get them free? Have you got the lungo ones as well?

Edit - If they are lungo ones do they come as a set of 4 like the espresso cups?

I've not taken my personal one out of the box though I have seen the actual unit in the flesh before in numerous stores. I think it a pretty poor design because it takes so much worktop surface area. I much prefer the racks that have a very small footprint but also store a great deal more. The good thing about the discovery box is that any capsule can be easily selected where as only four are available at any time with the racks but I'm personally finding a taste for certain coffees and hence only really have approx two tubes of capsules on the go at any one time anyway.

Regarding the cups, having seen them in the past they are very nice albeit ridiculously priced. Don't get me wrong, I'd have loved one if it were free but I'd never pay for them.

As an alternative I bought some glass beakers from Tiger UK (high street shop). They are very similar in design to the Citiz range of cups. They are not designed for coffee but do an excellent job. They are not double walled but if anything this means I do not feel the need to pre-heat as the coffee soon heats the actual cup and is finished fast enough never to go cold. I also find they are pretty good size-wise as an espresso does not look too silly in it (though it is bordering on it), whilst a lungo *or* espresso + milk looks great. Lungo with milk also fits in nicely. Best of all they are two for £1. Clearly not in the same league as the Nespresso range but at that price I'm very happy and would recommend them.

Well I saw on Nespresso it was £14 for 2 (lungos) so I text my sister to ask if she knew of a similar range that was cheaper and she said they got one of each with their machine back in the day (Magimix Le Cube) and they never used them so I got them gratis.
