I bought a Xbox 360 wireless receiver and it arrived today. The software wouldn't install on W7 so I installed it through device manager, it now lights up solid green but can't get my wireless joypad to connect.

At the moment my joypad is flashing, if I hold or press sync on both the joypad and the receiver it tries to connect but fails.

If I turn on the joypad with the middle silver button it flashes, then press the receiver it also flashes, I then press the sync button on the joypad, it spins round looking for devices but doesn't connect.

This joypad use to be connected to my 360 but I turned it off so it didn't start up.

Strange, I had no problems installing from the cd that came with my receiver. Might be worth looking on the Xbox website for an updated driver, or for some trouble shooting tips

It's ok I've sorted it now.

For anyone else with the same issue;

Use these instructions to install.

Right click on Computer
Go to Properties
Click on Device Manager
Right click on the Unidentified Device ( or if no Unidentified, then the xbox device)
Go to Properties
Go to the Drive tab
Click on Update Driver…
Browse my computer for driver software
Let me pick from a list of devices on my computer
Windows Common Controller for Window Class
