York.

Previous threads I have asked for Peak District area but heard from my mate that my wife has been wanting to go to York so wanting to surprise her with a big shopping spree for her birthday in York.

Need a nice Hotel to stay at...Anyone been or live in York who can recommend me a really nice hotel at a good price?

Thanks

I stayed in the Guy Fawkes inn last time I was there. Really nice old guesthouse and right opposite York Minster.

If I go back I'll definitely stay there again.

Hotel Du Vin, lovely place and people and a short walk in to the City - no more than 5 mins - the champagne suites there are incredible! Two slipper baths in front of a LCD TV, a bed you could sleep either way on - length ways or width ways! Deffo worth a look

Depending on budget, the best is cedar court hotel 5*, Yorks only one. Royal York is nice also. grange,Churchill and Marriott all worth a look.

If you want to go budget park inn travel lodge and travel inns are about .

anything else just ask.Ohhhh goes without saying go to booking.com for most of the above

And also hotel du vin over priced, over rated and staff are up there own bottom

Thanks, will avoid that 1 then.

Thanks for others comments, will look into it tonight when I finish work...

Another point if your coming on a weekend then you have to book Friday and Saturday . Most hotels insist on this apart from travelinn and travel lodge.
