Garage Heater for a car...

If this is to heat the garage then you need to not be looking at car specific products, rather at normal heating systems.

If it is for casual use with little upfront investment then an electric wallmounted heater with thermostat set very low will be your best bet.

If on the other hand its for the car itself, then I'd have to say Webasto.

They make excellent "night heaters", I love the one in my Scania, it keeps me nice & warm. :)

Otherwise, Jez is on the money.

They are putting radiators in mine with 2 big fans to circulate the air.

Garage heating as in heating the garage. Not sure what merit a expensive to run fuel fired heater with exhaust gases has in terms of keeping the exterior of a car dry to maintain its condition ? Does every post have to have lorry or bmw in? :P

Hmmm some good advice here. My dad just wants to stop any moisture or rot starting on the chassis of his TVR. Because their fibreglass they sweat abit so I dunno which would be more useful, a heater or a dehumidifier?

Also I'm considering putting on old 1988 mini in there which are prone to rusting and rotting...

So anything whatever would take the moisture away from the car and help prevent the rusting would be perfect!

Thanks.

Yeah as I said moisture will be the biggest killer, the dehumidifier on its own will do a very good job of keeping the cars nice and dry. It really depends on the budget long term (electricity costs) If on a budget, just use a dehumidifier, if not so much then add a heater as well. I think the dehumidifier I have which was just a cheap one is only 400watts so would be cheap to run, probably not notice the increase in overall power usage on your bills, but a heater you'd notice. Oh and don't forget you'd have to empty a dehumidifier on a regular basis.
My dad has his central heating boiler in his garage, that alone seems to keep it warm and dry.

I want to get a core plug heater.

See if it could work out more economical than cold-start running during the winter.

Plus it would be nice and warm from the off :)

If the garage is attached to the house would it be possible to tap in to the central heating and run some rads in to there?

Or a Sealey space heater and run it on used chip fat?
