Has anyone booked a holiday, extremely last minute?

I was going to go to Paris with my girlfriend in a couple of weeks, would have worked out about £400 for the both of us for 4 days/nights, but it turns out I've lost my passport, so I don't have time to get a replacement :(

You can pay more for a quicker service, still can do it.

For a lot of popular flights these days there will be a stand-by list so last minute deals of that kind seem to be very rare.

I remember flying back from the States several times in the early 00s and late 90s and having a row to myself to sleep on. Haven't seen that happen on a plane anywhere for a long time. :o

That's happened a few times for me in the last couple of years. We were flying back from LA a couple of years ago and the plane was only a third full. Normally the budget airlines are full but others can be quite empty.

I am planning on doing this next week.

Going to half pack for a weeks snowboarding then start looking on Thursday night. Got two other friends doing the same.

We find a really good deal, we go on Saturday. No deal, we look again the following week.

Snow is crap everywhere which is putting me off though.

Some cracking deals out there - http://www.igluski.com/val-d-isere/les-jardins-de-la-balme_p6563?holidayid=32486950

That is an epic deal!

I can't, I'd have to go to liverpool (£15 on the train), pay for the faster service (£30 extra), then miss a week of school (which I really can't do, or I'll fall wayyy behind) so I can be in every day to collect my passport. I have already tried that route :p I figure it's just easier, and there'll be better weather, if I go later in the year instead.

Totally not the same thing at all then if you cant select date ranges to find the cheapest dates! Annoyingly skyscanner doesnt let you changes classes though.

Kayak.co.uk allows class changes and +-3 days which seems to be the best all round comparison site i have seen.

For a general idea of the cheapest days to fly on use those sites, then go to fly.com and save yourself even more money.
E.g. I just did a search for my next flight and fly.com returns a wider range of flights with more airlines, more times and £110 cheaper.
